  1. No appointment necessary?

Firstly, giving credit where credit is due. Dropped off my R1S and it was repaired the same day. When I went to pick it up and was waiting while the service advisor was making sure everything was fixed a new customer came in and said he was unable to make an appointment but wanted to drop his...

  4. AC on at 63. Vents show red color. Why?

The air was blowing cool, not cold so the compressor was definitely running. Even though the temperature was turned all the way down and it was hot inside the cabin. The fan was not blowing very hard. Maybe just a software anomaly it’s too cold outside for me to check today. I added it to my...
  5. AC on at 63. Vents show red color. Why?

Per the picture, on Auto and recirculating. I always have it on those settings. Since auto never works very well, I may just try using manual in the future.
  6. AC on at 63. Vents show red color. Why?

It was around 84° outside and had the air conditioning set to 63°. I noticed it wasn’t cooling particularly well. About five minutes later I opened up the expanded display and noticed that the vents were all red per the photo. Shouldn’t they be blue? Anybody have an idea of what’s going on?
  7. Poll: Would you buy your Rivian again?

At your size car manufacturers should employ you for seating comfort evaluation . I’m 6’2 and many a time had to get a different rental car because I couldn’t fit. Great news is Rivians have plenty of power to haul us big guys around.

  9. Poll: Would you buy your Rivian again?

Just be aware that EV is not a money saver over gas. I don’t drive much, 6k per year and my cost per mile is over $1 for just electricity $0.30kwh, registration $860 and insurance. Add in depreciation and it’s over $3 per mile.Go on a road trip with $.60-.80kwh and it’s more. So basically a trip...
  10. I need a good weekly wax for my 2025 black tri

Applied Cerakote yesterday. Easier to apply than wax and looks great. Even more impressive was the Cerakote trim which turned the door trim (bottom ) from a dirty streaky grey to shiny black. First time using so can’t speak to longevity and $120 for the pair.
  11. Armrest and Steering Wheel Wear. Already? Really?

I can confirm with 100% certainty that suntan oil destroys the paint on the door panels. Mine have been replaced twice.

  13. When will R1S Quad be available for ordering???? Getting irritated with Rivian...

Problem is there weren’t any SUV EV’s available so if that’s what you wanted you pretty much had to wait. I had reservations in for Vinfast Mustang Lyric Rivian Fisker, Tesla and Rivian just happened to be the first one that came available after 3+ years.
  14. When will R1S Quad be available for ordering???? Getting irritated with Rivian...

Get a 2 year lease on a Tri. Maybe (hopefully) by the time the lease is up the Quad will be available. By that time time there'll be some shiny new alternatives for you to look at if you hate the Tri.
  15. Consumer Reports Reliability Rankings March 2025

I owned a Fiat circa 1976. It was a great 30/70car. 30% of the time on the road 70% of the time in the shop.. Two engine rebuilds in the year or so I owned it. At least it wasn’t very expensive when I purchased it.
  16. Consumer Reports Reliability Rankings March 2025

I know some folks will hate me for this, but I’ve owned seven Toyotas, a Honda and Lexus over 40+ years and never had a significant issue (RAV4EV excluded). In fact, I owned the Lexus for 20 years and never took it in for service besides oil changes. Now my Rivian on the other hand……… nine weeks...
  17. To FOB, or not to FOB?

It always shocks me how peoples experiences are so diametrically opposed in this forum. You would think since we all have the same vehicles, at least within generations,, we would have similar experiences. For me the unlocking and unlocking using the fob or the phone with proximity has been the...
