That definitely sounds like something is wrong. I haven't read of heat pump failures, just it's loud and annoying and I think they're working on placing it elsewhere so you don't hear it as much. But mine gets cabin plenty warm (68 usually because I have a jacket on) when it's zero outside...
gen2 r1s. Negative 1 here today. Heat pump gets luke warm about a minute. Gets hot maybe 5 to 10 min. It’s comfortable from the first minute or so. Compressor is loud. But efficient. If it keeps working then no complaints. Resistive definitely uses more power I’ve measured in my old Tesla...
Good, Ill make sure my portable charger is set to 24A on this 30A line.
And will definitely consider having electrician upgrade it to 50A (then the rivian portable charger will work again and I can return the other one as it maxes at 32A I believe)
thx all.
Good info.
Not doing 1, right.
2/4 electrician verified these so I guess they're not fails? (what might he have missed you think?)
3. Definitely bad idea BUT in my (weak) defense it's obvious, the port on the wall is a 30A with a 30A connector, so that's code. I just have a 1 foot 4 prong 30A...
My main breaker box has a 240v 30A line that goes to a female port in the garage.
It can serve, when the house is off the grid (MAINS OFF) as a place to connect an emergency 5kw generator I have.
I have a short adapter to go from the 4 wires in this sort of twisting locking receptacle (don't...
I had a tesla for 3 years, now proud Rivian owner. Tesla had this figured out easily, I'm sure rivian will get there, it's likely about 1 day's coding time and an update pushed to everyone.
I suspect they're simply not using the actual average power used while driving for nav estimates, or they...
