It used to do this back in the day but a software update along the way eliminated that behavior. I do the same as you and wish they would bring back that feature.
I’ve had my share of small issues as well, but on the whole the Denver SC has been wonderful. Sounds like a Miami problem. That being said I’ve heard other SC have some issues as well, but by and large I’d say your experience is not the norm.
I had hoped for a few years without a 12v issue as well since mine was already replaced once. Just got the notification yesterday re: replacing the thing again. Fun.
i bought my R1T long before mid 2023 when hands free was still being touted, so I would argue that it is something we should have expected (not in this update, but when purchasing the vehicle). I’m not really upset about it, as it would have limited use for me, but the expectation was still there.
I’m feeling the same way. Very few things have disappointed me about my rivian experience, but failing to deliver on these features for the early adopters that kept the business afloat and put up with the growing pains is a tough pill to swallow. Maybe it is hardware limited, but if so put...
now i’m not by the truck to go and check, but i thought it made a sound at both ends. regardless it wasn’t done recording when the noise happened because the progress bar had just started.
i had to honk my horn the other day and probably a minute later i hear the chime of the incident camera kicking in. i tested it again today and it’s super delayed. haven’t tried a reset yet.
I definitely agree that the UI has improved from an aesthetic and “functional” standpoint with the new features, but has gotten steadily worse over time (for me at least) with stability and responsiveness. i don’t do a lot with Alexa on the road, but she’s good at playing my audiobooks...
for those worried about accessibility in a true emergency, is there a downside apart from aesthetics to just removing the panel and leaving the pull cord exposed? tape the thing to to panel if it rattles maybe? not a perfect solution by any stretch, but alleviates part of the problem. buy some...
my experience is the opposite. my steering wheel is warm at best and my seats get so hot on just 1 dot that i can’t leave it on for more than a minute.
Despite being available in the shop, it appears that they might not actually be in stock. i put in an order for the console organizer before this thread was started and it still has not shipped yet. FYI for those considering.
I’ve had a series of PTC work. Took delivery in May 2022 with PTC. Worked well for a year then failed. Was replaced in December 2023. Over the summer it failed again, not retracting all of the way. I just had it replaced again last month. So far so good…
