My experience with the Rochester service center have also been exceptionally good. Certainly better than experiences I've had with OEM independent dealership networks.
I agree, Tesla allows comparatively high C-rate and maximum temperature of the battery packs compared to Rivian and many other EV's and they still are holding up.
One of the biggest concerns I hear from non-EV drivers is battery longevity, but it doesn't seem to be warranted. It's funny that...
I believe I read that the the average age an automobile lasts in the US is only ~11.5 years in the U.S. obviously cars totaled in the first year or two skew the average down.
Automobiles used as daily drivers are almost invariably on their last leg if they even make it 15 years in upstate NY.
I have both a Launch edition T which I got new and a Launch edition S which I got used with 600 miles on it. I voted YES to the T but would have voted yes to both.
Both have had very minor issues which were taken care of by service under warranty. My Rivian service experience has far exceeded...
Sad to not see the Rivian logo stamped into the B-pillar. One of my favorite details on the R1's. I'm hoping they add this detail back into the stamping die but maybe it's already to late.
Tough crowd.
I don't think CR was implying RAN was equivalent in scale to Supercharger network just comparable in terms of reliability. My belief is that the tiny number of readers who even care enough to know what RAN is will understand the size of the networks are different.
Not that I'm...
I'm curious what all the material being used in frame and body are? In the R1's it's a multitude of materials. Do we think R2 has been simplified to just aluminum and if so what alloy?
I wish the new color was a deeper tan and that the headliner was the lighter "Ocean Coast" color I'm also not crazy about the two-tone seats. I requested a trade-in value from my LE R1T and the extent that the California Dune edition is an upgrade from the LE vs. the cost difference just isn't...
One would think.
I brought this sentiment up to my Rivian service rep. a year ago and he said that all the R1's have "personality quirks" with their software. I'm sure this is doubly true a year later with multiple updates getting pushed to multiple variants and now two generations of multiple...
This is why Rivian should have kept the eye tracking camera, my R1T vin 5xxx has it. Allow videos for passengers while driving and if drivers eyes avert for more than 2 seconds pause the video. This is similar to what Ford Blue Cruise does with eye tracking.
Just ordered one for both of my R1's from @EveryAmp. Wish I hadn't previously wasted money on the pricier OEM filter. When my gen.1 snap plate from Everyamp broke while off-roading customer service at EveryAmp was terrific for sending my a gen2 replacement heavily discounted. Glad that a U.S...
You said :
This is patently false. Rivian has never sent an OTA update that bricked all the vehicles. Not even close. I'm not saying that OTA has never bricked a single vehicle.
I've been on this forum long enough that one could read every single new post. Not saying I know everything about...
Your post above is a bit hyperbolic. Here is why I say this:
Had my R1 about the same time as you and driver+ has gotten better over that time, albiet from terrible to just moderately bad. If fairness though most ADAS systems come as part of a technology package that costs a few $1K-4K extra and...
Gen 1 R1T/S are rated for 42" of water (in highest setting) after that they become buoyant. Rivian tested this driving them both forwards and backwards through 42" deep water to ensure door seals maintain integrity. I've taken mine through deep muddy water and even removed the frunk tub and...
Amenities of any kind are sparse in Southwest NY. I've done that trip a few times myself. I technically could have made it from the Rivian center in Cleveland to Corning without stopping but decided to stop in Salamanca to play it safe. How great would it be if Rivian connects RAN between NYC...
