Charger Possible Source of Garage Fire

Well my garage gets pretty hot in the summer so I assume the heat threshold is adjustable. Any particular brands recommended?

Charger Possible Source of Garage Fire

Very sad for this Rivian home owner but thankfully no one was seriously injured including the pets. https://foxbaltimore.com/news/local/electric-car-fire-destroys-home-odenton-maryland When your anti-EV associates bring up EV fires please remind them that there are FAR more ICEV fires than EV...

    Baltimore Rivian-Certified Repair Shop

Surprisingly, parts were not an issue especially considering one part(rear floor behind 3rd row incl. spare tire compartment) wasn't even in the parts catalog. I read all the posts here regarding parts esp. doors taking months to receive and was really worried since obviously there are many...

    Baltimore Rivian-Certified Repair Shop

I just got my 2023 R1S back from Jeff Shaw's Collision Craft in Baltimore after 5 months from getting rear-ended in the Ft. McHenry Tunnel and a $29K+ repair. They did a great job and I HIGHLY recommend their work. My tailgate and lift gate alignment is better than when I originally took...

Glen Burnie Service Center Launch Party 4/26/25 12 to 4pm

FINALLY! Just had a mobile service appointment out of Glen Burnie SC Friday afternoon at my work in Anne Arundel Co. So much more convenient than a 2:hour r/t to Gaithersburg SC from my work or 3.5 hour r/t from my home.

Rear Ended - Thankful for R1T Safety

As always, F = MA which is why my family will only ever own trucks and/or 6K+ lbs SUVs. Very glad you and your wife and child were not hurt AND that they caught the perp! I literally just got my R1S back after 5 months from being rear-ended after owning it only 17 months; thankfully, it wasn't...

Would there be any issues keeping Ride Height at "Low" full time, while in AP

I've driven my R1S 100% in sport mode and lowest ride height, rotated the tires @11k and 22k miles and checked inside, outside and center tread and can report 100% even treadware on the OEM 22" tires. I switched to Michelins @31k miles since we were going on a road trip and were loaded for bear...

    Gear Guard Drive filled up?

Weird because it was my understanding that they are recording all the time. FWIW, mine captured 20s-30s BEFORE impact as you can see below.

    Gear Guard Drive filled up?

Not sure the difference but, incident videos while driving are recorded which was the point of of the OP.

    Gear Guard Drive filled up?

True. However, when you remove the thumb drive they accumulate on the internal drive untill its near full and then you get a warning that it is almost full so then you can delete the oldest ones to free up space.

    Gear Guard Drive filled up?

When your thumb drive fills up the latest videos are saved to the internal drive NOT your external drive. Same thing happened to me when I was rear-ended although I had already removed my usb thumb drive but hadn't put it back yet but the videos were recorded to the internal drive which I then...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

And your posts are filled with misquotes and half quotes of my responses. I said Rivian shouldn't waste any time or money on EREV R&D. They are already contributing their zonal hardware architecture and software to the VW JV which will be used by Scout for both BEVs and EREVs but instead of...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

Way to cherry pick one of my data points that fit your narrative and ignore all the other ones that don't. You have a future in politics.? Let me recap the all the data points that I provided ones that don't fit your narrative that Rivian should invest R&D money in EREVs since you either...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

Yes, which in one case I've been reading about Rivian's quarterly losses for the past 3 years which is why I knew the information but for the sake of time had AI retirve it and format it in an easy to read format in seconds instead of wasting time with a search engine and manually compiling and...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

Seriously? It's a tool that's becoming as ubiquitous as the search engine. It's got a lot of use cases but one of the most effective is a better search engine that doesn't just give you a bunch of documents that have nuggets of relevant information to answer your question but can actually...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

I couldn't care less what you prefer. I prefer not wasting time finding, compiling, summarizing ,and formatting information that I'VE ALREADY READ over the last several years. That's one of many valid use cases of a LLM. That saud, they are not 100% so if there was any inaccurate...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

AI is an extremely effective time saving RESEARCH tool to summarize information that you know you've read before and provide the sources from which it derived the answer especially if you're on a phone. If you know how to ask it specifically what you seek, no need to ask it over and over to...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

First, using a LLM is NOT to compile a summary of information you know you've read before but don't remember where you read it is a HUGE time saver especially when you're on your phone, so get over it, seriously. It's a tool like a better search engine. Second, I corrected my*billions*...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

More irrelevant wishful assertions. What matters are facts. e.g. 1. EREVs are NOT new to America. 2. EVERY EREV that was sold in America is now discontinued. EREVs Previously Sold in America Chevrolet Volt Availability: Sold from 2010 to 2019 (discontinued). Details: The Volt was one of...

Why VW is Investing $5.8 Billion Into Rivian: For Internal Organs

Adding an internal combustion engine into the mix, plus a fuel tank and associated plumbing, will drive up the cost of the vehicle along with its weight—assuming the battery pack stays the same size. For the record, I did NOT say, "nowhere has it been written." What I specifically said was...
