I’ve done the Sacramento to Truckee drive dozens of times in all sorts of weather conditions and speeds. Dropping the speed to 65 makes a huge difference on the way up the mountain (though it’s less fun, takes longer, and often means you’re slower than the flow of traffic once you make it past...
It’s gotten noticeably better with the last couple updates, especially going through the tighter turns in Auburn. But even with those improvements it’s definitely not ready for hands free.
Who is getting annual inspections in CA?!? Smog check on my old car was every two years but that didn’t start until it was already like 10 years old.
Low cost of registration, probably. Driving around LA you’ll see a lot of Mercedes, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc with Montana plates… seemingly more than you’d imagine there would be given Montana’s relatively modest total population.
I have had the dash rattle fixed twice. The first time they fixed it, it turned out to be a clip that was missing on the dash from the factory. The second time this January it was a clip that had broken. During a test drive with the tech for the second time it didn’t rattle but I described it...
Had the same thing happen right after I started driving for the first time after installing that update last week. It’s happened a few other times over the last year or so, not too worried about it since the car drives fine while the screens reboot.
Sharp blow/bump, software adjustment to tolerance that causes it to bounce back up, bolt working loose. From watch the mobile tech adjust my hinges, it doesn’t take much movement for the alignment to be off enough to cause it to bounce open when trying to close it.
Definitely sounds like the hood is not aligned right. Our R1S had this issue from delivery but a mobile service appointment got it resolved in about 20 minutes.
I think the main reason is that they’ve mostly finished designing the R2 while the R3/R3X is still getting hashed out as to major details like suspension (fixed vs. variable), ride height, interior design/materials, etc.
Marco loves an excuse to buy a new car and loves luxury cars so I think his backing into that power pole was mostly an excuse to get the iX as his need for the off road capabilities of the R1S were going away.
The West Sacramento SC is like 5 minutes off the freeway no matter which freest route you take through Sacramento so I don’t know how that could be more convenient for a SC along the Bay Area–Truckee corridor. As for a RAN, the Sacramento RAN (in the Costco/REI parking lot) is 1 minute off the...
If it’s the one with the small compass logo, I’m 97% sure it’s an American Giant sweater in which case their pricing is right on. I’ve got two of these rivian sweaters and one from American Giant. They are expensive but they are great and are still in great shape after dozens of times through...
