My lifetime average with the OE tires was about 2.02mpk over 3 winters and 25k miles, I don't remember what it is now but I just put the tires on in April and obviously haven't gone through any winters but I now get ~2.3-2.4mpk on my daily commutes.
I bought and installed the tires through...
Went to the Rivian spec Goodyear Territory AT's in 275/60/20 and changed the tire size in the infotainment. Efficiency went way up and sound went WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY down. They aren't as AT as AT tires go but I was going more for cool looks than actual off road functionality.
Replaced the OE AT Pirelli's at around 25k miles. They started the deafening drone/roar at like 18k miles so I suffered those last 7k. They were pretty toast after 25k though. I might have been able to squeak out another month or so but the last drive I took in snowy conditions was pretty...
Couple weeks into the GY tires so far but not a ton of miles due to work travel. They are SO MUCH QUIETER and such a relief from the noise of the OE tires. I don't mind the size change and the infotainment settings were a piece of cake to change up. I'm getting sorta better efficiency but...
I ultimately went with the Goodyears over the Toyos to replace my OE Pirelli AT's. I don't plan on taking the thing off road any more than a gravel/dirt road so bigger 34's aren't really a need for me. I can save ~$500 on the tires alone along with whatever efficiency and performance gains...
Well now that the tire size change thingy is implemented, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set of these tires. The OE Pirelli's are at the wear bars now anyway so it's not like I'm tossing good tires out but definitely excited to not have the roaring sound of the stock tires anymore...
Last summer I hauled a pallet of sod home (love my truck) and, in the process of doing my yard work, a ton of dirt inevitably came off and into the truck bed. Got most of it off with a good wash but it seems like there's still a bunch of dirt INSIDE the tailgate. I have flushed it through the...
The Tire Rack and Goodyear's website reviews are pretty terrible for this tire...what gives? Seems like everyone on here who has them is happy with them? My biggest concern is winter weather performance.
I know there has been a bunch of discussion about this already but I don't understand why the ding when car in front moves and the smart turn signal features aren't a part of Gen1 vehicles. I get that there are hardware limitations for the full autonomous features and stuff but the Gen1 R1's...
That's not bad, not as good as an all terrain but not horrible. It does look better in this size vs a 34" tire though.
Dang, more decisions to make. I'm holding off until the update is live to see what it actually entails before I take the plunge on anything.
