Just had my R1S in the service center, and was handed the key fob and card key for a loaner R1T. I was only in it a fews days, but long enough for me to add some personal settings/data that I didn't want to leave with the vehicle for the next person.
Here is a simple checklist to start with...
Still…
I get that the Rivian data source may not be Apple Maps and Google Maps level current. But, they need to know major road closures that have been in place for over a month.
The 330 in California has been closed since being impacted by the Line Fire, 40+ days ago.
The Rivian app and...
My R1S spends a lot of time outside, and whenever I wash it there is a lot of debris, leaves and small twigs that come out from the gaps in the roof. But I think there is even more that is still under there. The photo attached is after a considerable amount of time with the pressure washer on...
I have yet to really off-road the R1S, in part because I don't love the stock AT wheels. Even with some vinyl wrap to hide the "staples" they just don't quite sit right for me, so keeping them in perfect shape for a trade or sale.
In the mean time I will over examine/research. To that end I...
There are plenty of reviews out there, but the YT algorithm thought i’d like this video, and I do, so I thought i’d share It. I use my Rivian in a similar way on occasion, and I know others plan to.
Rivian did loan him the vehicle, but it seems to be an unbiased review.
I noticed it about a week ago when on a roadtrip, and assumed it would magically come back (it was there before right?!) but still shows a - on all stations. Just me?
With so may people on the road, weather conditions and an already fragile network for DC fast charging, it's hasn't been the best time to roadtrip in an electric vehicle using CSS.
My particular anecdotes included:
a. Paso Robles EA station with one, -one- functioning charger. A Polestar gave...
A new bug for me this morning, doing the school run, it's same route every day but I typically use nav anyway for the ETA as we race to beat the bell.
I hit start, and soon after, this popped up, and stayed up until I hit continue. Gave me a minor heart attack until I saw battery was at 50%+...
I decided to check on the app in case it gave me a status of repairs, it does list out at high level the items it went in for, and a cost?!
Is it typical to have a cost listed? The only thing I can think of is the 12v accessory fuse, which I did blow. Support, the service center and seemingly...
I am not in the industry, but I expect some in the forums are. No sign sign of Rivian representing as a company, but perhaps there are enough vehicles on the road now that some of the accessory makers will have concepts on display.
(Image shamelessly plucked from Google images and this...
My spec: Launch edition, launch green, 20" AT, underbody kit, crossbars, spare tire.
I am not sure how many of these threads we really need, but it's early days and maybe it helps the next person, and if nothing else it help me keep track of things.
Pros: all the usuals, nothing new...
I thought i’d be clever and make the Rivian hotspot SSID the same as my home one. I figured then all my existing devices would just work. I also allowed my R1S to join the home SSID. The idea was when Home it would use the home wifi, when on the road (and no wifi) the hotspot would turn on...
