Only thing I would add is if you are dedicated to just having one year round all season tire, I would recommend the Michelin Defender LTX MS2. It is consistently one of the best performers out there and exceeds the performance of some three peak rated tires.
However, if you are doing a lot of...
Well, I agree, but I am a big fan of the Kuiper satellite network they are launching for low orbit internet service. It's great to see them competing with Spacex and that technology will help a lot of people.
I mean, I agree with everything you guys are saying, but I'm pretty excited that Amazon is moving ahead with Kuiper to compete with Starlink and...
... I just like seeing the Rivians get good press
Always great to see the rivians racing across the desert to the blue origin capsule. Had some great wide shots of them this time. Hopefully good press for the company since this particular launch is very PR related with the All-Star cast on board.
Love the Autel maxicharger here. That said, the comment above is correct, charger doesn't matter (or isn't needed) until you upgrade the breakers, wiring, etc.
This is great news. We used to go to OBX (Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Duck) for over a decade, but haven't gone in several years now. It was great to see Tesla had something we could use there starting last year, but I would much rather use the RAN network and give Rivian the money.
Someone on Reddit changed to another tire thinking it was a match (I think they picked an ev tire they didn't have) and it messed up their mph etc.
I changed mine to the aftermarket, but I think your fine keeping the setting as stock. Either way, just make sure you pick the right size either...
Depends on what you are compromising on (performance, noise, price, ability to rotate, longevity, being a PITA to deal with) :) Directional are known to be louder generally speaking. They are also can be a pain for lots of reasons.
I have Michelin directionals on my 2015 Mustang. They are...
Yup, this is my answer. I would LOVE to see this for the R2 with the deep clearcoat as shown here.
Remember that Rivian really focuses on their branding and that is outdoor/adventure which is why we have all the gray colors for different terrian, the blue (water), the green (trees).
It might...
For anyone that can't get their hands on this and needs a substitute because they can't get this, the Prestone all season works very well and smells almost identical. I discovered it when the mobile tech had it with him one days instead of the GC stuff and I'm not entirely sure that it isn't...
Just to clarify for anyone that might stumble on this post. This is a 120v 30 amp connector common at parks and RV locations not to be confused with a 240v 30 amp "dryer plug" in a house. You can use a "normal" adapter for just about any plug as long as you limit the amps in the Rivian to 20% of...
Here is a good thread on the different adapters and extension cords for charging at vacation rentals. As mentioned above, that is a 14-30 dryer outlet, you will want to make sure you reduce the amps in the Rivian to 80% of the circuit. You also want to make sure you double check it each time as...
As mentioned they go in batches and take a "send ... Watch" approach so if something isn't working right they can stop it and fix it before anything gets out of control
Don't water the sc time with appointments for software updates.
$500 in wifi upgrades? Why?
ah... I remember it well, the year was 2023 and casting video to our screens was just a twinkle in some software engineers eye when the new interface and motor temps became available. I can still hear the cries of "my motors are too hot!" and "my motors are too cold!" ...
The poor engineers at...
Yea, maybe they are thining the light truck version that has been around for years? Although I think that is still around as well. I would go back armed with the actual print out of the tire and model number of it.
It still doesn't show up on costco when searching for the tire or the vehicle...
I remember the same argument happening when I bought my 2015 Mustang and people were losing their minds about no spare tire and just a compressor and sealant kit. This is also somewhat current for me because my daughter got her full license YESTERDAY and we just had a talk about how I never...
The tow hooks on the rivian are ok and designed for pulling. The same goes for any other vehicle with external tow hooks. Those screw in hooks that are hidden behind the bumper are not designed for vehicle recovery and can break or pull out of the threads easily. They are really just there for a...
