Good Luck. I never actually talked to my Guide.
Grabbed a R1T off of the Shop and got nothing from him. Asked for delivery info, got nothing. Got thru 8 steps without him.
I asked Customer Service for a new Guide and got crickets.
It seems I am on some sort of black-list for responses.
I was going to use PLAID, and when I got to the window where they were asking for my Bank credentials, I stopped DEAD in my tracks. I then went off to do research on PLAID and it is not ideal because of how they are handling those credentials.
LE, LG, BM, 20s - deposit Nov 2020. waiting for the Oct-Nov window.
I currently have access to the R1 Shop and it is mostly Adventure models and Forest green interiors. :(
I am willing to switch to certain colors, but want my LE.
Mine is updated too. No email that it was done. I had contacted my Guide 3 days ago about an update. No reply!
Rivian communication style: 1 step forward, two steps back...
I got the call last Thursday about attending this 'event'. I said I was in and then got another email about saying pretty much that they may not have my exact config. If I choose to except whatever config, I would be responsible for any additional costs. I got a text message yesterday saying...
So, What if Rivian has crunched numbers with the pre-orders as they currently stand and used that to decide the best fulfillment model and then people start changing everything.
Will this screw with the model and then just slow things down for everyone?
That may be true, but it is still a 'number' that represents your pre-order. So, there. :)
Still funny that people are putting so much stock into a 'number' like it is the only thing that matters. Even after Rivian came out once again and said it is only a small piece of how they are figuring...
If I remember correctly, there was a post somewhere that had a chat with Customer Service. They said they were trying to figure out how to get samples o people that was eco-friendly.
Something else to consider is that a small paint 'chip' does not always represent the true color.
IMHO, I find it funny that people are still trying to figure out their number in some hopes it will make a big difference. As been talked about many times in many places, it is only 1/3 of the fulfillment puzzle.
With the recent announcement of Rivian Guides, we got another nugget of info into...
I think I would be fine with employees getting the first few vehicles off the line. Which I guess will be happening in May to meet June delivery to Customers. Yep, me dreaming again.
For one of the cars I bought, I did the financing at the dealership with the manufacturer's finance option. Made the buy process and paper work very quick. Rate was not good though.
Drove the car home and called my CU and refinanced it with them within a week at a better rate.
I am wondering how any down payment will be handled. With Dealership, you just hand over a check and you are good to go. With an online interaction, how will this be done?
Wire transfer, overnight a check / cashiers check. Credit card if you have the limit.
Just had a thought maybe they will...
A lot of the car manufacturers are going down the path of charging extra for some colors. It is not just a Rivian thing. There is usually no difference in the paint. Just a way for them to offer options that the consumers scream for and yet recoup some of the cost involved in switching between...
