Won't ruin the plot.... but in this new series on Hulu, the Secret Service use Rivian R1S instead of Suburbans. You will understand why at the conclusion of the first episode.
My wife drives 2023 R1S. She does not leave at the same time every day. One day might be 8:30, next day 11:30. If we keep the R1S plugged in, will the setting above keep the battery closer to 50 degrees at all times?
The Scouts are cool looking vehicles to be sure..... but looking at the Traveler, it looks like an off road vehicle. The silhouette teaser made it look more modern. I get that they want to preserve the Scout legacy, but as an R1S owner and R2 reservation owner, I love the more modern look but...
DIsclaimer: not an attorney at all.
As an 2023 R1S Quad owner and R2 on order, I want nothing but the best for Rivian, legally, or otherwise. Wonder what happens down the line with this dispute on who foots the bill or has to supply replacement motors if there are warranty claims?
I would be willing to agree if they stated first electric in the statement... makes it seem they really intended to state first Scout Motors vehicles in 44 years.
A couple of weeks ago, was driving home from Michigan, we normally stop at RAN in Maumee, OH. We dropped off my sons car at Tesla supercharger in Findlay, OH on the way up. Decided to not stop twice, R1S said 11 miles left upon arrival. That lowered to 4 miles left at arrival and about 1 miles...
Interesting perspective... but given the vehicle controls the rate of amps to receive and Gen1 can peak at 220KW on RAN chargers, not sure how this could be.... I have used EA 350KW and did fine over 200KW..... I guess the details I am providing are because I am so surprised that the Tesla...
Update from my return from Florida yesterday.... in my original post I highlighted that charging with A2Z adapter with Tesla V3 Supercharger, the charing rate dropped under 10KW around 40% state of charge. It also happened with a V4 with Magic dock.... same exact pattern. Had to move to 2 - 3...
The Supercharger with Magic Dock also exhibited the same issue. That will be the source of my service call. I will be visiting the same chargers in reverse order this Saturday.
I may try EA once on the way back to control/eliminate variables. Paid for the Tesla membership for this long road trip for convenience and cost savings.
Not sure what "debated" is, assume "derated". Never experienced "derating" with Tesla network and I have charged dozens of times in hot and cold weather in a Tesla.
For my Rivian R1S experience, in all cases where charging rates slowed to 10KW, the charging speed started as expected and...
It was 70s to 93 degress starting in the AM until afternoon. Only used Tesla charging... Rivian NAV for the route and one time when close to a charger, the car started preconditioning the battery.
Took family in our R1S from Ohio to Destin Florida are, yesterday. I was looking forward to the trip knowing I would have access to Tesla's network with by A2Z adapter, and I could avoid Electrify America, due to occasional reliability and charging speed issues. Have to say, yesterdays...
