I have a Volvo XC60 right now with the Bowers and Wilkins and I do not like it. Too 'tinny' to my ears. No matter what setting I put it on, I can't get it to something I like to listen to.

My guess is that the maps will be downloaded to the vehicle and become 'static' until your vehicle is notified of an update to them. It is the stuff that is shown on top of those maps like traffic that will be 'real-time'. Interesting question is if Charging stations would be a more static...

A nice feature that the Volvo has is that you can put in an address in the Phone app and then send it to the vehicle. Real handy when you are sitting you your living room easy chair and find a cool destination.
