Wow... I'm order #2818.
I'm actually surprised this many people are eager to do the install. This really does go to show you that Rivian owners are more of the independant, cutting edge types ;-)
Thank you for all the hard work Alex! Looking forward to this!

Hi Guys,
I have a Gen 2 R1S Dual Max Perf. I’ve noticed a couple times, before long road trips, if I try to give it a full charge, above around 80-85%, the rate slows well below the usual 11.5kw rate. It’s at 88% and only taking 7kw and last time, when it got above 93%, it dropped to 3%.
I...
I am LOVING this thread! Totally nerding out on the range specs/analysis.
What's interesting to me is that with my Dual Max Perf, I almost never see anything over 2.6mi/kWh for highway cruise.
Jivian, do you know what your avg speed was to achieve 2.92mi/kWh? Is the front motor in the Tri...
260 Miles... YIKES!!!
Sounds like they need to make a bigger battery! With the winter we've been having in the north east, that would be closer to 190 miles!
Let's hope they figure out ways to make this better. I think I'll stick with my Dual for now.
If anyone sees any more info, send it...
I was really hoping to go for a Gen 2 Quad, but if the max range is going to be in the 370 range (real world of 320 probably), that just doesn't cut it for me.
I guess I will have to be happy with a 0-60 of under 4 seconds ;-)
Is the Tri worth the upgrade from the Dual Max Perf? I did buy...
I had a Gen 1 Quad Large and traded it in for a Gen 2 Dual Max Performance and I do love the extra range! While it says 410 miles on the rare ocasion that I charge it fully, I probably see 360 with 4 passengers, luggage, heat, etc.
My concern is I've seen varying reports of the Gen 2 Quad...
I have the original A2Z NACS adapter, but it was recalled and they just sent me the new Typhoon NACS to CCS adapter for free. It's definitely "beefier" and feels like a quality product.
On the other hand, I just received the Rivian NACS adapter in the mail and it feels like a chincy POS. On...
These are interesting points and ideas… I actually had to have my first service done since owning a Rivian. Traded my Gen1 for a Gen2 at the end of September (my discount was expiring).
This latest update seems to have totally messed up my headlights. Most of the time, only one light works...
Ok, I know preconditioning has been talked about in the past, but nothing really regarding Gen 2 which is supposed to have a heat pump to help keep temps regulated (I thought for both battery and climate/comfort).
In northern CT this weekend, temps were in the teens and I saw a dramatic...
Here’s a weird one:
I traded in my Gen1 R1S for a Gen2. The Gen1 is still sitting at the lot and tied to my app. Guess what, it still has Costumes and I can trigger them.
I guess they didn’t disable it for everyone.
BOOOOOOO!!!!! (not the Halloween type)
Most people think of a vehicle as getting them from point A to B... Then Teslas made it "cool" to have a vehicle that was "different"...
Rivian has made its own mark on the vehicle industry (especially EV), but even my friends that own Teslas were wow'd...
