    Jack stands?

Thanks! Yeah, that pivot you mention is pretty pronounced when lifting an R1T, especially the rear.

Anybody have any ideas of what yo do with a broken manual tonneau cover?

The power one would have to fail in a way that allows you to use the manual one which probably isn't likely. Recycling might be the best option.

    Jack stands?

I'd go with a good floor jack and any jack stand that meets the height/weight requirements if you need to lift. I basically do what @Jnz does. However, I didn't need to lift my R1 for my step install but I do swap or rotate wheels 3 times a year. I have the bottle-jack / jack-stand combo setup...

Purple Gen 2 Quad R1S Spotted. Debut seems likely soon...

To me, the idea was to use yellow accents on the new Tri since its performance is similar to the Gen1 Quad. I welcome the new blue-ish accent color on the Quad, which will look great with Storm/Slate. It needs to be set apart from all the others.

    Finally saw an ID Buzz

I just noticed my R1T looking sad in the rear view… ?

    Finally saw an ID Buzz

Based on my wife’s first impressions and my limited experience, this is going to be great for our use. I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. We tend to take short trips mostly (island hoping/ferries) so it fits the bill. But, I will stay in the passenger seat for now. That’s ok, I...

    Finally saw an ID Buzz

Ordering our Buzz was certainly clunky. Nothing on any website. We called our local dealer almost a year ago to see if we could get on a waiting list, but they didn’t really have one even though other dealers did with 10-20 people. We stuck with the closest dealer and took our chances and ended...

    Finally saw an ID Buzz

My wife bought one. I have not driven it yet (patiently waiting through the bonding period) but it meets or exceeds my high expectations. It’s really nice and freakishly roomy inside. I was prepared for this, but still blown away. She drives less than 50 miles a day and less than 6000 miles a...

Brand New Single Motor R1S (big R1S fail)

Yeah, that’s what I meant… no actual selectable mode (automatic), the point was more about the coupler.

Brand New Single Motor R1S (big R1S fail)

If this is a dual motor, don’t they have a mechanical coupler to automatically switch from normal to conserve mode? Seems like a likely suspect.

Outside AT tires exhibiting tread blocks chunking off

Looks like toe alignment. This can also be caused by driving too hard (likely breaking under steer). The latter is easy to achieve due to the high weight and power factors. Mine spends about four months a year on the ATS, and I definitely have to hold back relative to the 22s.

    First Everything Wrapped R1S (probably)

With the lighter color options, the OE piano black for pillars and roof probably makes the R1S less busy looking. But that blue… perfect the way you did it. Nicely done.

A pillar trim fell while driving

When I did my camera install I was able to carefully pry a C pillar one open and snap it back in place. According to this thread, the 'A' ones are on pretty tight using two clips located near the windshield. See: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/taking-off-a-pillar-trim.31870/post-600520

Camera performance gen 1 vs gen2 for capturing incidents

For certainty, I have a Thinkware 1000 (4K front, 2K back) on my Gen1. I'll probably install the same (or better) even if the Gen2 cameras are good enough. 2K resolution is barely good enough for reading license plates on an R1T but would work better on an R1S due better rear camera positioning.

Where is the new Gen2 Quad???

I feel the same way and would love it if Rivian threw us an R3X bone while they were at it

New Rivian Key Fob 2.0 w/ Ultra-Wideband (UWB) passed by FCC

Rivian should keep the fob and continue improving the design. The first puts too much emphasis on looking cool at the expense of making it more difficult to use and remember than pretty much every fob I've ever owned. I gave up using the fob after PAAK became more reliable, but those that...

    Tire Swap. 22 to 20.

OE - 275/65R20. So compared to my 22s (OE also) they are about +4% circumference.

    Am I a sucker?

Seems like you placed a non-refundable, were assigned a VIN and now you are backing out? I still think Rivian should just apply your deposit but maybe their business process doesn't make it easy. I hope it works out. I have a reservation and just checked - I suppose once I agree on a vehicle and...

Anyone take delivery of a slate sky Rivian yet?

I'm thinking of Slate Sky for my next R1T but some pics have an institutional look, I really need to see it in person. The Forest Edge looked way better in person than pics so I'm hoping the same holds true.

    Shout out to Discount Tire

The Discount tire in Burlington WA is pretty awesome. I do the R1T rotations and have not needed tires yet but my wife and I take our "garage queens" there and are treated well.
