You may know this already, but there's a ChargePoint in Van Buren, ME. I charged up at that Tesla Charger in Bangor, ME & Drove up thru the west side of Aroostook County, Maine then looped around Madawaska, ME & down to this ChargePoint in New Buren, ME to make it back to my campground west of...
I've had mine for a few weeks now & cannot believe how I drove before without it... On the interstates, it's put Driver+ to shame. No more tugging on the steering wheel every 15-20 secs is more than enough to have this upgrade & it's a Major Win-Win for me as it works on every road I travel...
Very nice report as It pretty much "mirrors" what I did last night & today. Only difference I drove Tarkus (my R1S) some 300+ miles on all kinds of roads getting use to what OpenPilot/Comma can do & not do... while working today.
Luv this stuff!
Wish you were in New England... I need a set of these for my upcoming (per ordered) GoSun Rooftop EV Solar Charger. They expect to start shipping this summer... My "Tarkus" needs her "Fun-in -The-Sun" solar charging...
I test the Accuracy of Wireless E911 Calls by driving around a given county per day and making some 300+ test calls & no line of sight blockage with the current setup. I've been testing wireless E911 calls for some 20+ years (inside building using Z-Axis & outside driving). I luv to drive...
FWIW... I too ordered up the comma 3X & received it last week. The Chun Mag Quick Mount was ordered as well & should arrive by next week sometime & I did also order the Harness thru Lukas (in Germany) to help him with the development of this project & I hope to get his version of the Gen1 Rivian...
Anyone have EV Sportline Running boards & SC declined to replace HVAC Plug as they WILL remove the running boards, but charge $250 to put them back on. Crazy??
There's a video on how to install the harness, Very basic video, but a bit tedious to get to the the connector under the passenger footwell. I will be getting this system added to Tarkus in the very near future, as she does a lot of back road drive testing of Wireless E911 Calls & lane keeping...
Update to earlier post dated 05/05/2024: Now at 63,523 miles. Still Driving my Aug. 2023 (Delivery Date of Tarkus) all over the 9 States of Greater New England for another 20 months or so of Wireless E911 Testing, but added dragging my 2024 COW "Crib-on-wheels" as well...
Some folks have mentioned in the past they connected their R1's to a highspeed Wi-Fi & that seemed to get the update sooner than waiting for it to download over the built-in att data connection we have in our R1's, but now with "Connect+" it's noted these paid subscribers get priority over non...
It's not an issue with any specific adaptors overheating. Just on certain "sunny" days & perfect alignment where any charge plug is facing directly into the sun, any charge plug will over heat as mentioned in many forums, including Tesla owners wrapping their own charge plugs with wet/damp...
Heads up, if Rivian calls you in to a SC to have them "Check" the plug at the HVAC for possible clogging up, they want to charge you $200+ to remove the running boards & they will not re-install them. Just had this issue two days ago at the DFW SC & declined to have them remove the running...
Keep it. You'll need it when your adaptor get's too hot in the summer time & stops charging, you can just swap out to the other one & re-start charging. It's happened to me multiple times this past summer & I had to stop charging before I needed to & wished I had the Rivian Supplied version to...
ok & thanks for the screen shot... looking at the 9.3kW charge tells me this is a Level 1 Charger at your home & not the "110v Kit" that comes with the R1's & only trickle charges at 1.3kw & that's probably why mine will not sleep. I can swap out the 110v connector for the 50amp connector cable...
