True for most people that have trucks but don't need trucks, but they can just choose the smaller pack options. For my purposes and that of many others that use the R1T for truck things I would like faster charging & more Kwh even if it was just 165kwh. No different than having an additional...
While I agree for the most part, anyone looking at anything more than short distance towing should be giving the Silverado a good hard look. Better range towing (or not) & better charging speed. There is no shortage of application in the truck market.
The CT also failed in this regard.
There is zero chance the range extender would weigh anywhere near 2000lbs(equivalent to 165kwh) as that does not even leave enough payload for the driver.
I would think 30-45kwh(360-540lbs) would be a more practical size to allow for some remaing payload.
The spare tire or gear tunnel space in...
3WT -1750 lbs
4WT- 1400 lbs
RST - 1400 lbs
The R1T with a 180kwh pack would be the same as the lower rated Silverado.
Adding 2 modules would put it at the same carrying capacity of the larger pack Silverado. I understand this is not ideal for all circumstances but I know it woukd be helpfull for...
Having had both I would much prefer the R1S vs the R1T for general driving as far as size. The T has a significantly larger turning radius. I just needed a truck however.
I would suggest both, if Rivian is loosing sales to GM due to range offer another pack option. When I ordered in 2018 cost per kw was $211 now it is $115, cost to produce has gone way down.
Yes it would have a reduced payload but no worse than the truck it is losing sales to. I believe the...
I would tend to agree about the headlights but overall I think the front end is too large. The best part about the headlights is how effective they are.
Sometime in 2026 hopefully, they need to get their QC/service wait times fixed first. They can't afford to be near the bottom of service/QC reputation for another 2 years as the R2 will not solve that issue.
*I have no complaints about the service center in Vancouver
Estimated sometime 2026...
I just traded a 23 R1S with 27k miles for the identical 23 R1T. The R1S trade value was marginally higher than the voucher price on the T, no complaints here starting fresh with a new set of tires.
Now it would likely be 50-60K to upgrade to a Tri-Max.
