The Dune edition has a non-carpet flooring material that is similar to what they upholster the seatbacks with. It would be a great option for Rivian to offer.
I've tracked down a limited few discussions/videos of this tire. While the Wrangler Territory is OEM for a lot of newer truck models (Ram TRX, Bronco with Sasquatch Package, Hummer EV) it seems they use the MT version which is a different tread design.
The silver R1T in this video uses this...
Has anyone taken these off road yet? I’d love to see some accounting/reviews of use on forest roads. Alternatively I may just find some videos of TRD Pro Tacomas and Broncos off road, I think these are OEM AT tires for those models.
Also, where is this specific model made? I hate to even be...
This is precisely why I bought it. I’d been thinking of buying an awning, and after my gear shop credits it was far cheaper to buy the Rivian version than direct from Kammok. There are many other awnings in the sub-$500 category (after credits and taxes, I was at $430 to my door), but they...
If you can find me a 40kWh battery and inverter backup system for $6500 I’d happily go that route. I don’t think it exists.
I am not concerned with battery cycling on my EVs. They all have 10 year warranties. Besides, I’m not looking to use them as a means to load-shed or arbitrage TOU electric...
I run a Skycamp Mini that I bought second hand for a song. Functionally identical to the Rivian branded one beside the upgraded mattress. I was skeptical of the practicality and use of an RTT but I got a good enough deal on mine that I figured it was worth trying out. After 7 nights in it, I am...
I’m curious as well. I anticipate they aren’t worth the cost since the Rivian 12V BMS is designed around a lead acid deep cycle battery and probably has different targets for discharge and peak SoC. However, I’m not an electrical engineer (just hang out with a bunch) and don’t know enough about...
Good catch! It looks like the standard mounts would functionally work just the same without the clamping bars. For the extra $200 I would have rather Kammok/Rivian provide a mount that would connect directly to the vehicle crossbar mount, rather than a set of $800 Rivian crossbars.
The Rivian...
The Kammok x Rivian collaboration awning announced yesterday launched early. Rivian has yet to update the Gear Shop, however, Kammok has updated theirs. The Rivian version is $1300 ($200 more than the standard) and comes with Rivian specific mounts. Aside from the mounting hardware the awning...
Is there any data on snow/ice traction for these? Since they are an OE tire for many models I can only find mixed anecdotal information from owners forums (Ram TRX, Ford Lightning, Ford Bronco, Toyota Tacoma, etc.) but nothing from tire reviewers. Tire reviewers seem to focus on aftermarket tire...
Well that’s a bit of a bummer. I’ve got two referrals pending about a month apart, I thought I’d have 12 months of charging, I guess it will be 7 months.
Mine got replaced last month. The latch wouldn’t “catch” and the tailgate would drop. After playing with the tailgate button it would seemingly work. I lent it to a neighbor to run to the lumber yard and they ended up spilling a load of plywood all over the road when the tailgate dropped during...
275/60r20 is a 33” OD tire, same as the 275/55r21 and 275/50r22. Pick any of the options that aren’t 275/65r20 (34” OD tire) and it will have the right settings.
@SeaGeo I completely agree on the EG4! Since the R1 can only output 1500W continuous, having an AC-DC converter designed for up to 5000W is overkill, and at $500 it seems unnecessary. I tried a quick search for a charger closer to 1500W and just didn’t find quite the right unit —what did you go...
Yes! The rectifier/AC-DC “chargeverter” (EG4 model) seems to be the most straightforward plug and play route. The appeal of the DC-DC charger is the high voltage cables to the current inverter supply pack voltage (IIRC 216-4v nominal) and are fused at 15A, so one could pull a substantial load...
