Both are great ideas, please add them to the Feature Request section of our Forum if/when you get a moment.
Camera apps wouldn't be included in the block list, so wired or wireless cams for off-roading and trailering would be totally doable. Or how about, "E.V. - launch the drone" and being...
There are 0 use cases for video in motion:
Off road? Even worse. You're inching down a 60 degree incline or tearing around a blind curve on a fire road - what possible urgency is there to watch Seinfeld reruns? Offroading requires way more focus, not less.
Passenger use - you as a driver don't...
No. You could ground the parking brake wire to the metal housing of the rear of the unit to bypass it though.
Kidding about the bypass...those that bought aftermarket Pioneer DVD units back in the day get the reference.
No extra wires (it is completely wireless), double-stick foam tape so it is secure, but not permanent. It's black, and I have mine mounted to the side of the center console, down towards my seat (check out the video on evplay.io if you haven't already). No one can see it but you, it blends right...
Oh, you're one of those! :) No, you're good -- you don't have to actually lock the doors. A few minutes after you close the doors (and there aren't any occupants), the computer and fan will turn off. As soon as you open the doors, the computer will boot back up.
Long pressing anything is annoying AF for tasks that require frequent use. You won't be switching back and forth in rapid succession, but often enough where having to long press a button to do so each time is going to drive you nuts.
The "janky" button is fast, reliable, can be mounted...
You can do all 3:
-HDMI to USB adapter (certain ones, will sell them on the site eventually) will allow you to output most HDMI sources to the Rivian screen.
-You're getting an 8-core, 64bit Android computer, Pi away!
-It has an NPU capable of 6TOPS. Pretty capable for local LLMs.
All these...
Yes, video-in-motion is disabled. And yes, the scenario you outlined is possible, though I'm not sure 100% legal (not that I care, just pointing it out).
That's correct!
EV Play contains a Wi-fi and Bluetooth module used just for AA/CP functionality (both are connected to your phone for wireless AA/CP sync).
EV Play also has secondary Wi-fi and Bluetooth module used for all other tasks, like playing Android video & audio apps, multiplayer...
If you're using something like AA/CP, your phone is connected to the Rivian audio via Bluetooth (paired from the Rivian phone pairing screen). You can switch back and forth between AA/CP and the Rivian UI, but your audio source does not change.
If you want to use a native Android app on EV Play...
