That would be nice! I think the total if they change to the larger battery would be lower since it is a bit wider of a cylinder which I don't think would be a 1 for 1 swap. They are also a bit taller so you'd loose a little headroom in the cabin but you'd have to think they will take advantage...
I'm definitely not in the auto industry, but I believe this is not what they call a skateboard platform. I believe that refers to more of a body on frame type configuration where the battery pack, suspension, frame, wheels, etc. are all connected and the body is bolted to the "skateboard".
Don't forget they typically have about a 5% buffer on the battery which puts it down closer to 86-87kwh usable battery. I think you're right though, they are targeting a 3.5mi/kwh range for EPA testing which means we'll see real world a little lower. At 3.5mi/kwh and 86-87 usable we should see...
Hopefully it's the standard/smaller pack. You have to assume they aren't going to get Model Y efficiency numbers with the boxy design and you need to account for buffer top and bottom of the battery.
Note the 3.99 average to the right though. That's getting close to the epa rated m3 standard numbers I believe. I get real world 4.67 in my m3 standard range so if that 3.99 is accurate that's huge.
The air suspension is a different compressor than the auxiliary one on the R1 so I was hoping that's still on. Yea, suppose it's just an old fashioned plug in unit!
I don't think I heard it come up in the release event or interviews since, but I was looking at a photo someone took at the Austin event and can't tell if I'm seeing one of the field kits in the trunk or the compressor kit. Anyone know?
You can save some money and go with the Grizzl-E Duo. Pretty sure it's still the cheapest dual charger on the market. Could be wrong there though since I haven't looked in a while.
Apologies if this was covered in the thread since I don't feel like reading through 20+ pages, but I specifically asked Rivian if they qualified for the upcoming IRA battery source requirements. Below is their response via email. I read that as yes they do even though all the media has been...
It looks very functional and well thought out, good job. Wen I finally get my R1T I will probably build something similar. I was thinking more of a thick cutting board top that the cooktop would sit in instead of a butcher block. Might hold up better. Convection combo would be nice.
I'm...
Are there any pre-March price adjustment Explore Package reservation holders out there who also think we won't ever see a quad motor, large battery pack R1T Explore Package produced? I have yet to get any updates and every time I ask Rivian they keep telling me there's more to come on delivery...
Yea, I think they split them post March 1 rate change. I was just assuming they were made pre March 1, but enough time has passed for these to have been made more recently I suppose. So I guess my assumption really isn't valid the more I think about it.
Those are all LE's i think with that logo color scheme. If thats the case, I believe they the tow hooks and underbody where a combo, so I would say yes, they have the underbody protection.
