As a (happy) owner of the Mariner rack I'd like to see the roof version come to market that lines up with the Mariner (like the factory one does). The higher profile of your bed version implies that might be an issue. Also, I'd really like a black anodized version of your rack systems. But...
I have 2 of these:

Mine is definitely a work truck. And the rolling Dewalt fit really well and do the trick. There's enough room left over that I can throw a bag of dog food on top when leaving...
I do this route frequently. (Bay Area to Red Bluff or Bay Area to Oregon). Not sure when you did your trip? I know PGE has had power issues with the recent heatwave. And certainly again with week with the Park fire. But there's an EA station at a Walmart that I've found to be pretty reliable...
I don't have an opinion on the cell animation good/bad. I do have the shared sentiment that there are way more important UI issues to address. Below are a few:
A clock that I can read while driving at freeway speeds (new font helps, but it's still difficult)
Text messaging system to read and...
I'm VIN 13XX and haven't heard 'boo' since the initial email asking if I want to get in line. Still waiting for the shipping address confirmation email. Based on my VIN I'm speculating they got an initial shipment of 1,000 units.
I am VIN 13XX. Day one reservation, I've responded immediately to both the announcement and shipping confirmation emails from Rivian. I'm still waiting. My guess is the first batch of 1,000 have gone out. I think the Elon temper tantrum to let the entire supercharging team go has impacted...
Very nice! I have a 2 year (new) R1T El Cap with 22" dark wheels. (Looks very similar to your stock version prior to wrap). I did a bra, hood and lower side panel wrap immediately after purchase. I'm really tempted to upgrade and copy yours (or the original YouTuber you copied)
Again great...
Valid Point. I do believe Sandy Monroe's analysis resulted in suggesting they DID have more invested than recoup'd in sales price for the launch vehicles. Not sure that issue is still in play. But, regardless, the burn rate needs to be addressed for them to succeed. If I recall RJ has reduced...
IMO RJ reiterates my points. They are singularly focused on being profitable by Q4 of '24 (prior to R2 delivery). To do so they need to cut $30k (or more) out of the R1 costs. RJ blames that on "material costs". I have a hard time buying that the raw materials have $30k of wiggle room. I do...
R2 will be too late. And one of my all time favorite lines: "Sure, we loose a little on each widget, but we make it up in volume". I respectfully disagree. They need to deliver the R1 line at a profit and they need to figure that out prior to delivery of the first R2.
I think the reality check this thread seems to be missing is how the refresh is going to cut $30k out of the cost of production. I'd be looking at what's going to be missing from the refreshed version, not what's going to be added. That's the piece Wall Street is looking for (and early investors).
Let me preface with: "I may be way wrong"... I was at the Sacramento RAN (adjacent to the REI) twice this past week. It's a mix of DC fast and L2 J1772. There were lots of non-Rivian vehicles charging at that station. So maybe RAN is already open to other vehicles? Or the other vehicles I saw...
Remove = 8 hex bolts. 10 minutes (I'd guess). I leave mine on since I can't predict when I'm gonna need it.
Install = Took me about an hour with the help of my neighbor. Best guess is I could have done it in 45 minutes by myself. I like my neighbor, we had a good time doing the project...
available today from Range Industries. Been on my truck since last June. It's rock solid and way stronger than the Rivian Cross bars. Highly recommend.
The reverse engineering of the wiring would be awesome... I'd love to park the camp speaker on my desk and have the ability to charge it. IMO that would be the holy grail of this build... getting storage in the truck and being able to re-charge the speaker outside the truck. A 3d printed...
I've had the window rolling back down to the 66% closed position problem twice. First time required a service tech laptop connection to the ODB port and full recalibration to windows and seats. I've now had this condition a 2nd time and it's been a couple months. I've got a mobile repair...
I did 10 hours of driving in the truck last Friday with Nav on for most of the day. The truck demonstrated two behaviors, one good one bad. On two occasions I received an audible alert that the nav system had found a faster route. That route was displayed on the screen and asked if I wanted...
