Gen 1 Standard+ w/ the Performance upgrade was such a good spec. Not sure we’ll ever see something similar again. I also chose the same as well and plan to own this vehicle for a long time. 🤙
So back to the performance upgrade, I have loved it and I’m sure we’ll continue to see enhancements to the driving dynamics as new OTAs are pushed out.
Even leasing my vehicle, I don’t feel I over paid for the feature and use it every day. Can’t wait to see what Rivian comes up with to make the...
Would love to hear any feedback on the Firestone Destination X/T’s. They’re on my shortlist and available in 285/65/R20, which I am leaning towards.
I know everyone has opinions but I think it would make our vehicle less clean. I’m not a fan of it on the Mercedes. We already have distinct lighting, why add to it?
yeah, a bit anticlimactic right? I was hoping for an option to select our tire/wheel size versus a tire brand. For example, going from 275/65R20 to 285/65R20 after choosing our tire type.
That’s what I read as well. Curious to see if Rivian is using the performance upgrade as a starting point and then use a similar model for the range upgrade. Whether it’s a one-time purchase or an option for monthly subscription (Chosen by the customer).
As a Gen 1 Standard+ owner as well, mine came with the performance upgrade configured as our battery is a software locked large pack. This wasn’t a range increase, only performance to add new drive modes. This is why those Standard+ owners without the performance upgrade are eligible.
I’m...
Gen 1 Performance DM, still experiencing the rear motor thunk at highway speeds. I’ll do a hard reset and see if it’s still present. Also had a mobile tech perform the rear motor calibration two weeks ago. I have a SC appointment still scheduled for May 1st just in case.
I don’t have any feedback to share other than I’m also looking at a similar size to replace my Pirelli’s. This is the set I’m leaning on:
Firestone Destination X/T
A mobile technician did a ride-along to pull diagnostics and found the rear motor position sensor calibration was missing. No start/end values tied to the configuration. We redid the calibration and performed a hard reset, so far the issue hasn’t returned.
Following up on this thread. I had a mobile service appointment and did a drive with the technician on the highway. I was able to reproduce the behavior and we captured a diagnostic of the drive.
The technician reached out to me 24 hours later after he did some preliminary review of the...
Has anyone else noticed, more recently, a real hard thud when the rear motor engages on/off in All-Purpose mode? I’ve never felt it this hard over the year of ownership. In 2024.51.02, this has been my biggest issue and I can’t seem to understand what changed in the motor configuration to create...
Rivian’s aspiration to control the entire user experience through all software components of the infotainment system is understandable. This is fundamental to their business model, as they prioritize owning every step of the design process. For future iterations, I would welcome the introduction...
Only thing I’ve regretted is not having a truck bed, but I have come from owning four previous vehicles that were trucks. Plenty of room and the R1S continues to impress me. Family went camping and we laughed at how much we could fit in it. I’d say that’s a great issue to have.
Stay adventurous. ?
