Just got a call today about my 22,500 mile Comprehensive Inspection that was scheduled for San Jose on March 10th. They are going to pick up my car at my house in the morning and drop it back off in the evening. And they are going to do the inspection in Palo Alto.

Bad job with the alignment seems highly likely. Also look at the rear brakes to see if they are dragging which should show heavy pad wear. Did Vermont tire give you a before and after alignment report? If so did they make huge changes to rear alignment when you were seeing normal wear previously?

I think it is elastic with sewed seams. I had a seam get stuck out of the slot and pulled on it a few times and it popped back in. Maybe yours is the same or you broke the elastic?
