@Tim-in-CA which battery tender product do you use plugged into the wall? Curious what it's specs are. Also, do you know if this approach would work for Gen1 with dual 12V batteries?
My first attempt was filed Oct 2024 and rejected December 2024. My second attempt was filed early January 2025 and received the refund early March 2025. So I'd say about 2 months for me for either rejection or refund.
Although it's great to see Aptera taking the risk in a different direction, I'm afraid this won't take off just because the market has shown time and time again that it isn't interested in radical designs en masse. Cases in point include the original Honda Insight and more recently the Cyber...
Sorry to hear, but you aren't alone in receiving weird/nonsensically worded letters. I went through something similar and a couple posts above you can see someone got a rejection letter stating something about "two-wheeled plug-in electric vehicles". Last I checked, Rivian ain't making scooters...
Adjusted 2/27 and received check 3/1! Thanks @Mygrain and all others for all the advice. As noted in this thread, like many others, mine got denied for a nonsensical reason the first time I filed (electronic). So I subsequently filed a second amended return (this time on paper, so I could attach...
Go for 5/8 inch drywall instead of 1/2 inch to make the entire home much quieter. Insulate the heck out of every space (incl. attic) to prevent energy loss.
Also, I'd go for 3 L2 conduits/runs if possible, and try to get the perfect angle (30 degrees?) on the roof portion that faces South...
Mine shows received 1/13/25 (second attempt via paper, after the first electronic submission got denied for a reason that made no sense whatsoever, and captured in my previous posts). Hang in there, we're in this together. The law is firmly on our side.
It is right under the "V" on the RIVIAN on the tailgate. It appears this was done by design so that the "V" points to the button.
Of course the above won't help when you're trying to close the hatch in which a case a sticker or something similar may help.
The frunk/tailgate staying proximity-sensitive, even though auto-unlock is disabled at home and set to "Lock only", was the primary reason for excessive vampire drain (up to 16 miles a day) in my case. So I prefer to not enable proximity lock/unlock at all at home.
I agree having the option to...
I find it amazing that the CCS port monstrosity even made it into the wild to this extent. NACS is so far advanced in terms of compactness and ease of use. Hate Tesla as much as you want, but I'll give it to them hands down for sticking to their guns on NACS and not giving in to CCS during their...
Hoping there were no injuries!
I've always been curious how the mechanics of crumple zones work. I imagine the Wagoneer isn't a low riding vehicle, so perhaps it's hood starts around the same height as the RIVIAN label on the tailgate. If so, I wonder why the Rivian's tailgate is relatively...
The comparison seemed fair and objective to me. The DM R1T certainly seemed to struggle up the hill. Although that's the base model R1T, given they aren't too far apart in pricing, I can see how they may get cross-shopped with that Taco for some folks. The DM R1T may be a better all-rounder...
My 2c after watching the video:
1. Drivers are always responsible for what their vehicle is doing at all times. I'm not sure about the law, but my horse sense tells me the truck driver isn't at fault since that driver was ahead of you and signaled that he was coming into your lane. The truck was...
@Mygrain thank you! I checked my amended return filed via Taxact, and the form title is "8936 Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit", Rev. January 2023. That's the same form from your previous post. So it looks to me that the form Taxact used is actually the correct one. That is...
