Premium Sound Door Speaker-- Normal or Not? Take a listen.

Seems about right. If the factory uses a low pass filter on the woofer (pretty sure they do), they may roll off around 300hz where the midrange can pick up. I ran 3-way components in a previous car and I crossed my midbass at 250hz. This keeps the voices and instruments higher on the dash...

    Disappointing Service

My Teslas were topped off when they went into service, though it was actually kind of annoying because it just watered down the Listerine.

    Disappointing Service

I was also a little bummed my washer fluid wasn't filled when my truck was in for service earlier this year, but Listerine isn't that expensive so I just did it myself.

    Aftermarket Backup Camera install question

What about just using the bed camera when reversing? Not quite the same as having the camera on the other side of the bike, but it's also already built into the truck.

Tesla drivers named worst drivers on Georgia roads

Pretty lousy article. I am no Tesla fanboy (or hater, really) but the author of the referenced LendingTree article undermines their credibility when they say stuff like this: Going fully electric may not mean as much if you’re a menace on the streets. Really, the benefits of driving an EV are...

    Tri-Motor 0-60 speed.

What wheel/tire config are you on? You'll be traction limited by the 20ATs and 0-60 times will be higher. I believe all of the Rivian vehicles are rated for 0-60 with the most aggressive factory tire choice.

Do your interior door handles make creaking noises?

The driver's door handle developed a pretty loud creak on my truck, but it was only noticeable when you pulled the handle to open the door. Otherwise it was fine. I had the truck in for service anyway so I asked them about it and they replaced the whole door panel. It seemed like there was...

What do you think of Dual Motor Performance? | Views on Sport Mode in particular

I don't find the ride to be that bad in low/firm. I prefer it over low/soft. Lowest can be jarring and dizzying on certain surfaces though. The responsiveness is great, however. It's something you just can't get in AP mode, even if you reduce traction control to allow the rear to remain...

    Ceramic coating worth the cost?

If you're offered a "X year" coating, check the fine print. A lot of places that advertise multi year coatings require you to come back every year for some kind of pricey maintenance, or they'll invalidate its warranty. I did DIY CQuartz on my two Model S. The first one I took extra time and...

The Most Powerful Production Trucks You Can Get in the U.S.

Kind of a dumb article. The R1T in that spec hasn't been released. Here is the actual top 3 right now: 1. Hummer EV - 1000 hp 2. R1T Tri - 850 hp 3. CT Tri - 845 hp G1 quad is just behind @ 835hp

2025.06 Update: Dual Motor Owners Can Software Upgrade to Dual Performance + Rally Mode first look!

Definitely not "necessary." If you consider that level of performance a requirement for safety, you're not doing a very good job of checking your mirrors and yielding the right of way. To hit 60mph in 100 yards, you need about a 7 second 0-60 time. That's achievable in many cars, such as a...

    Free Tonneau Timeline??

Same here. I took delivery of a '23 in June and I pressed them to install it when I brought my truck in for service at the very end of last year. They said it may take a few weeks (and it did) but they did it. I just added it as another issue to my ticket.

    Help with Home Charging

You'd use something like this for a 14-50: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Southwire-15-ft-6-3-Black-Stranded-Romex-SIMpull-CU-NM-B-W-G-Wire-63950006/301096024 I'd ask your electrician to check NEC 400.8...

    Help with Home Charging

Are you saying you have an extension cord hard wired into a breaker on the panel? And an electrician did it? Extension cords like these are not meant for permanent hard wire installation. What does the panel look like? This is bizarre. To adapt the plug end, you would need a female-female...

    Help with Home Charging

We would need to know more about the plug on the side of your house and how your generator connects to your panel. Typically the outlet on the side of a house for a generator would be male, and you would use a male to female cord to hook up your generator that has female receptacles on it. Can...

Why Don't EVs Come With Spare Tires?

Even if spares were free, there is a tradeoff in having to store a spare that's over 30" in diameter somewhere, and in many vehicles, that space has to come from valuable cargo or the passenger compartment. A lot of people aren't willing to give that up and will instead keep their phone charged...

Why Don't EVs Come With Spare Tires?

Spares are a lot less popular now that cell phones and coverage is nearly ubiquitous for most of the driving that people will do. Additionally, with as big as wheels and tires have gotten, they take up a lot of room that a lot of people would prefer to have as cargo or passenger space. Cost is...

Who would like a 6” longer bed?

I also had a Ridgeline (actually two of them) before the R1T and I found it to be just enough most of the time. Even with the Honda I wished I had just a slightly longer bed so that I didn't have to leave the tailgate down with a motorcycle in the back, but it wasn't actually a problem. I find...

    DCFC restrictions, warning

I think it'd be nice if there were a more prominent way to identify the 350kw stalls. There is sometimes (always?) paint to indicate this on the pavement, but in my last experience, that painting had grown illegible, so I picked a charger at random which happened to be only 150kw. I was going...

Senate Republicans Propose $1000 Tax on Electric Vehicles to Fund Road Repair

I posted this in another thread about EVs and road use fees/taxes, etc. It's about the stress on the road based on a few factors: Regarding axle load and road stress (wear) check out the fourth power law. 2 ton car / 2 axles = 1 ton per axle 3 1/2 ton R1T / 2 axles = 1.75 ton per axle The...
