Snow Mode fail - costly result

At some point they stopped carrying over drive-mode specific regen. I think/hope this is a bug. It's still documented in the manual that it should default to low, and the "reset to default" button puts it to low if tapped.

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Gen1 max and Gen2 max are the same capacity. Same cells, and same number of cells. Unless they snuck a change in there that nobody has documented.

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

I would encourage y'all to submit service tickets on this, particularly with the "warm" battery experience recently. I haven't encountered this, nor have a couple of others who I know who have Gen2 max packs, so at a minimum it would be good to formally flag it with Rivian. I would note: my...

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

I don't whyot would be the heat pump Honestly, I don't understand why there is an issue all. Hope it's just a bug.

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

It's the same cell as the Gen1 max pack. (I don't love the cell either).

Why am I doing this to myself - long time Rivian customer close to giving up.

It's not fixed. The just fixed the part that was causing very frequent resets. It still doesn't negotiate power correctly. Correct, not fixed. The Soonish Gen2 charger is great, but is stuck relying on two USB ports until Rivian gets the act together. Just a different anecdote for you. I...

    Gen2 Tri poor DCFC speeds

That's not a winter behavior, it's just what they are preconditioning to on purpose. My R1S just did 6 to about 45% at ~200kw on Friday with it preconditioned to 95F. It did derate a bit, but it also hit their rated 41 minutes for 10-80%. Conversely on Sunday I showed up at the same RAN with...

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Right. And I've never experienced derated L2 charging in either my Gen1 large pack or my Gen2 max pack.

All Terrain Tires Barely Slow The Rivian R1T Max Pack - 10% Challenge Road Trip Simulation [by Out of Spec Testing]

The '25 DM didn't seem to be a particularly good specimen. The tri- in conserve will perform the same or worse than the DM all things being equal.

Charging Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra with Rivian R1T outlet

Two of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C5JJVT9P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title I killed a 1200w one accident (TL;DR, the Jackery requests more power from a single DC pin that it should), so I sized up. But it also gave me some confidence that they won't randomly blow up on me. I've also...

Charging Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra with Rivian R1T outlet

I totally get what you're going for with the DC-DC approach. It's just less straightforward than I was looking for, and I honestly don't care about some energy losses given the lack size (an two of the packs, lol). The chargeverter from EG4 is... Expensive and overkill IMO. With the Jackery...

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

It absolutely can, but it seems like people are running into situations where it's not warm enough to.

SoonishEV: TopoCharge Wireless Phone Charger for Gen2 Rivian Vehicles

Do you have your Gen2 yet? This is a huge improvement over OEM honestly. We stopped using the stupid OEM charger almost immediately. Both our phones were sliding around, and it often caused them to overheat.

Charging Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra with Rivian R1T outlet

So a simpler (though less efficient) approach is to pull the AC from the truck and charge the Anker with DC. I'm assuming you understand that's what is happening with the Delta above, but just in case. I'm also doing that with a Jackery 2000 plus.

SoonishEV: TopoCharge Wireless Phone Charger for Gen2 Rivian Vehicles

I have this in our R1S. It's absolutely great. Functions significantly better than OEM and in my opiist as good. @Sojhinn absolutely nailed it. Especially with keeping NFC compatibility. Rivian just needs to get the USBs fixed for it to be perfect.

    The preconditioning myth

A warm battery is also a source of heat for the cabin.

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

If you attach it to ABRP you can check the pack temp live. :) Thanks for this data btw.

L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Yup, that's basically my point. Mostly 1 and 2 though. I've never had mine not get up from say... 30F to 50F fairly easily, but I don't get to test it out too much in truly cold weather. If that's all this problem is (which still seems a bit fishy) then Rivian needs to implement a fix to say...

which model are you thinking? That will determine if the pack fits in my coat pocket or is the size of a beer keg. 😂
