Granted Iāve only had my Gen 2 R1T about 3 months, but Iāve always just used auto. Never even considered doing it differently. No issues with that method at all. Usually warms up nicely when I precondition the cab with scheduled climate function.
In my previous truck, a Chevy ICE, I never left...
I have the same issue. I did find that I can preheat the cabin using the scheduled climate setting. This always works, where as simply clicking the climate icon to start heating gives me the "could not turn on" error or something similar.
Had a short roundtrip this morning in the MN cold. Used the scheduled climage warm-up before leaving home. Battery temp when I left home was 23F. When I got to my destination, about 8.5 miles, battery temp had dropped to 21F. i have a gen 2 dual with the large pack. Motors were at about 100F...
My washers work OK when stationary -- not good but OK. When driving at highway speeds, they only reach the bottom 1/3 of the windshield. The passenger side wider does push a bit of the fluid over to the driver's side, so that helps a bit, but it is really bad on the passenger side.
Iāve had mine just over 2 months and Iāll hit 3,000 miles today. No mechanical issues.
A couple of times the FM radio gave a message that it could not connect and would not play. After the truck slept, while parked, the radio would work fine the next time I tried to use it. This is really a...
I've only had my Gen2 R1T a couple of months, but most of the time it's been in the 10's thru 30's. I've found the in vehicle route planning to be very close predictor for real world range and state of charge. It's just a little bit on the conservative side, so if the trip planner says I can...
I dropped Sirius about 6 years ago because of how they wanted to handle transferring my current subscription to a new vehicle.
The long story ā I had been a customer for many years. I donāt remember the exact plan, but was paying $100/year - a fair price I thought. I bought a new vehicle and...
The latest software update installed yesterday with no problem. I noticed that the update went into a āpreparingā status while I was driving. I donāt know when the download completed, but it installed when I was at home, parked, and on WiFi.
I have not yet had a chance to see if this fixed my...
Yes, I've seen similar behaviors. It was fine for a few weeks after the last software update, so I don't think that was the cause of my issue. It's really only been a problem for me for the last week.
Yesterday morning, I was trying to preheat the cabin before going to work. The truck...
That could be the case. I'll have to test this some more when I'm not at home and charging. I've only been a user of the service for a few weeks and am still learning all its nuances. I like Electrafi's data, but not enough to sacrifice any range.
From Electrifiās site, Iād does appear to access the vehicle directly and can keep the vehicle awake. The Electrifi knowledgebase has some docs on this. I noticed at work today my R1T wasnāt sleeping and showed in idle status for several hours. I changed some of the sleep settings in...
Another thing to keep in mind is what will be the charging options at your destination? If the remaining range after you reach or destination will not be sufficient to get you to a charger when you leave, you could be stranded.
A example of this is my Thanksgiving day trip to my wife's...
Yes, I think so, but I did not pay close attention. Iām just letting it default to whatever Rivian coded it for. I donāt have a strong opinion about what would be ābestā ā Iāve only had the truck for 3 weeks, so Iām mostly just observing and learning at this point.
Do the Gen 2's have different regen settings? I too am in Minnesota and I was out in the ice Wednesday night. I put my R1T DM in the snow setting and really had no issues with regen and stopping traction. It is my first winter in an R1T and I was curious to see how it would do, and I was...
I've never named a vehicle before and did not plan on naming my new Gen 2 R1T, but the Department of Motor Vehicles did it for me. My new plates start with the letters RUS, so now the truck is known as Russ. Russ Rivian has a nice alliteration to it.
I found that if you put it in reduced traction control setting that the rear motor is more active under normal to light acceleration. I donāt know if that actually makes any noticeable difference in traction or performance, but it is visible on the display.
I have something similar, but would not describe it as loud in any way. Maybe a very quiet clunk that believe is the brakes releasing from a hold status just as I touch the accelerator. The clunk is simultaneous with the hold indicator going off on the dash.
