My GM charger at home shit itself yesterday, and I couldn't get my truck into the garage due to it being too tall, so didn't get much of a charge on 120V last night.
Pulled up to the chargepoint in town and noticed the app said 1 CCS and 1 NACS port. Hadn't stopped here in quite a while so was...
Rivian sent me an e-mail to share this reference guide with me, and said my early access invitation would be coming soon.
Seems to have some more specific measurements than I recall seeing before.
100kWh LFP battery, 100kW DC charging, no AWD mentioned yet. Not rated for towing. Definitely...
Luckily my Rivian was still at home sitting under a blanket of snow.
Don't have a proper size spare for my winter wheels on the Sierra, so I had to have it towed.
Totalled, you think?
When we had our rooftop tent loaded up on the R1S, I found it was easiest to start unpacking it and finish packing it by actually being up on the tent itself. It was pretty difficult to get up there, fairly sure I put a minor dent in one of the roof panels when doing so.
Debating designing a...
It's also the threshold for completely disallowing regenerative braking. Last winter it seems like Rivian would always aggressively heat a cold battery until it reached 50F, unless you had regen braking assist turned on (I don't typically use it, so I don't have the historical data of when/if...
Trade you pedestrian sound modules :(
My whole front bumper has been unplugged since the last two updates, and apparently as a result, I still have last year's sound files on it, even though the infotainment is all updated. Owl makes the "unlock" sound and Crow makes the "lock" sound. Honestly...
So I noticed that the GM app reports slightly lower prices at the same supercharger than the Rivian one does. Obviously I haven't tried either since my adapter hasn't arrived yet. But I am very curious if I can start a charge for the Rivians through my GM app and pay the lower rate.

Rivian:
Just noticed they updated these pages to include the applicable date ranges. Since, legally, the warranty coverage that was on this document at date of purchase is what they have to follow for your vehicle, this is a great change they've done, making it easy to look up what yours was, if you...
Looks like GM'S NACS stuff is probably going live tomorrow. GM expects me to pay $225 for the adapter for my Sierra EV. Have no immediate plans besides testing it, but will be happy to have the option.
Looks like Rivian might have come up with a way to reduce A/C noise/vibration for those people that have complained about theirs in the past.

Anyone have this service performed yet? Neither of my vehicles are exceptionally loud so I...
I'm obviously biased. I say yes.
I could benefit from them doing this for a long trip we have scheduled in October, but there are potentially even quicker chargers from competitors a short distance away from the RAN station that we'll otherwise plan on using. So it's not out of a place of need...
Picked it up on Friday. I have to say the mid-gate is pretty cool, but the soft tonneau cover is super loud flapping away back there on the road. Might have to consider getting the folding hard cover instead. Some high pitched whining from the rear inverter under slight load or regen. Not sure...

That they might have an even more powerful version up their sleeves to make mine irrelevant again in two years.

Rivian must have been reading about the folks who planned on not updating in an attempt to avoid the sunset of their free LTE, this was part of the e-mail I received on this story:
Was at the SC to drop off our R1S for some repairs. Asked about the Gen2 demos and they just happened to have someone cancel their morning test drive, so I took the R1S for a spin.
It was also the first time I've driven a performance dual motor+max battery vehicle. Throttle response is tuned...
Saw this support article was posted. Rivian now has a method for owners to request a subset of their vehicle data. Probably could be useful to someone in an accident, or needing to prove they weren't in an area.
Anyone get one of these reports yet? Very curious how detailed they get...
Anyone take their Rivian in recently for service and get offered a Gen 2 loaner? I'm curious if they've started this yet. I have an appointment next week and it'd be pretty cool to get a gen2 to test for a day...
