I’m not going to screw myself over by boycotting Tesla chargers in all scenarios, but yesterday I decided to continue to my destination without a DCFC top up at Tesla. A month ago I made the opposite decision.
The reason is I do not approve of how Trump and DOGE are acting. I believe they are...
A $5k worth of Outback needing a $4k to $5.5 engine rebuild ( Seattle shop rates!). I was given $1.5k trade in.
It will go to auction and an amateur mechanic will keep it alive. I don’t believe it will die yet.
I agree with everything said above.
In winter I have noticed that it can take 20-30 minutes for the vehicle and battery to reach a steady temp and then the heating load reaches a minimum. When this happens you will see efficiency much closer to rated.
Remember that the number in the driver...
Alternative perspective.
I have error message come up on dash of my Volt. Yesterday I called Chevy dealer and they offered me an appointment on Tuesday (2 business days wait). I expect them to service it straight away too.
That’s good. Keeping to 65 max helps a lot and I think fast charging warms the battery and aids efficiency too.
I did it without box or rack, but went up to 75 on freeway and made it from NW Seattle to Whistler (220 miles) with 20 miles left.
I tried the new Tesla SC at Market Place, but...
That sucks.
As others have said, probably coupler on rear drive.
I had similar symptoms in my Gen1 Quad and it was too much grease in halfshaft to motor joint.
Either way, Rivian priorities these types of issues. You should get a rental or loaner on them. They will fix it soon.
7500 inspection is not free.
I had one recently at $176 after taxes.
They found issue with CV boot and replaced half-shaft under warranty.
I get my tires rotated at Discount Tire for free.
Vehicle towed back to Bellevue SC
Update:
Rivian say they packed too much grease in joint between half-shaft and motor, which caused over-pressure and the drivetrain computer to freak out.
New half-shaft installed with correct amount of grease and so far so good.
I think I may have the same. My vehicle wasin SC over 2 weeks for just a tailgate adjustment and 7500 inspection. On the phone today I was told they worked on the driveshaft because a a CV boot issue. There were no indicators of a problem before inspection. They did not write it up in the...
No. No drive through stall. Don’t let that put you off though as this is a very quiet area for Alderwood Mall parking (except during holiday shopping perhaps).
