@NY_Rob
Hello, I just found your post.
I tried your tip and it worked like a charm. I changed "very slow" to "ready".
Thanks for sharing the tip.
I wish it was that simple for my body in the morning. I guess coffee is the same, but it doesn't work as quickly. :)
Hello Mike
Thanks for sharing your experience with the aluminum basket, especially the additions of the eye bolts. That is a smart accessory to have for securing the cargo. After seeing your link, I ordered my own set.
I have DCE Weistec and as others have mentioned, installation was a piece of cake. No modification needed to install. In the rare case that I would need to remove them, I don't see it being an issue.
I had my vehicle serviced by Rivian and they didn't give me any troubles. The same results when...
Yes and no.
I have something similar and it did fit on one of the bolts, but its size is too big for the other bolts. It's one of the tools that I carry with me, but it's not by go-to because I know it doesn't fit on all the bolts.
Technically I'm still correct. 😆 ...at least for the next 4k miles.
Yes, once warranty has ended, it's a different story. Fingers crossed your bolts will stay in place.
Cheers
Glad I can assist you in getting dirty, but at least you know your bolts are secured. :)
Yes, I think you're right. To correctly torque the bolts probably requires disconnecting the half shaft. That a big job. Since our vehicles are under warranty, I suggest we have Rivian do that part.
I just read your post. It's unfortunate that it happened to you a few times.
It sounds like once they repair it, it doesn't back out again. Fingers crossed that holds true for the long run.
Yes, I have the same fear. They fixed the one side that failed, but the other side still has the original...
Thanks for the idea. I thought the same thing.
My shallow socket wasn't able to fit.
See attached photo. This is why I went with the off-set wrench. It works. I was asking in case there were other ideas that didn't require modifications.
Background Info:
On 2022 models, there were issues where the bolt on the steering knuckle would back out and hitting the half shaft.

Looks like the issue is not isolated to 2022 models...
Very nice post. I like how your break down of the pros/cons
I was in a similar boat and was planning on purchasing a Gen 2.
I decided to get the Gen 1 for the things you highlighted. The biggest selling point was buying my Gen 1 after depreciation.
I had a Tesla before my Rivian. I bought the...
Hello
Thanks for following up and sharing the photos. Yes, you witnessed the same thing in the same spot. Thankfully, I don't think it will cause any cuts or harm. I was just curious if the upgraded premium interior had any changes in that area. Sadly, it sounds like no.
However, it's still...
For the Ascend interior, can you tell me what material are the 6 o'clock spokes of the steering wheel made out of? I'm curious if it's plastic or covered with vegan leather.
For my '23, it's plastic with minor-sharp edges. I wished it was a better material considering it's a high touch point.
Great video and thanks for getting into details of the Ascend interior.
I couldn't figure out the differences other than the stitching and colors. After watching your video, I can appreciate that it's much more!
Speaking of your video, nice job on the editing and audio clarity. It was very...
No problem and thanks for the comment. I know it's not for everyone.
You're giving me too much credit on the skills, but thank you.
Haha, that would be impressive if I can achieve the same results off-roading.
I have a second set of 20" for when I do go.
