Yeah I've had similar issues for almost a year now, even after taking it to the service center, who did not fix the problem but claimed they did. (45k+ miles now.) Wasn't dropping, lots of squeaking on one side, sometimes pressing the button wouldn't unlatch it, long periods of time the truck...
Nice trip. There are RAN chargers all the way up the coast on 101 from Corte Madera CA (north Bay) all the way up to Portland OR. It takes longer than i5 but is a gorgeous drive. I live along that route and pretty much the only time I don't charge from a RAN is on the occasional free chargers I...
I have the slightly larger 19' Sol Horizon, around 3300lb dry. I haven't towed with it yet. I'm excited to see what efficiency you get with yours, and to compare that with what I end up getting. Do you have any data?
Mine is an R1T but similar build time, early June, purchased in July 2023.
I did get a whole bunch of weird battery errors once when my battery dropped below 5% (it seemed to suddenly go from ~5% to 1% then 0% as I made it the last couple miles to the charger - seemed to do this after I...
Congrats. That must feel amazing. I've been working toward similar but unfortunately went too hard into RIVN and got utterly crushed when it crashed. 😭
For the reasons I stated. Forged wheels, vs not. Yes you will have worse efficiency in the beginning with the stock tires. But when you change them you can swap to a bunch of 275/60/20 options for much better efficiency (and much lower cost), on par with or better than the 21s. See threads on...
Mine is 25k and it's from the shop, stamped June of last year, picked up July. Yours is probably around an April/May 2023 build.
It's up to you, and there's probably nothing really wrong with that one, but being that it's nearly a year "old", I personally would probably try to get a 2024 at...
Good. $1000 is a reasonable penalty to teach you not to make such a bad decision as nearly buying that awful thing. Much better to pay it than actually go through with the purchase. Too bad the $1000 is going to Tesla.
Just recently crossed 15k miles and have been overall incredibly happy with my truck. Bunch of small issues like squeaks, only kind of big issue was the AC not working in the heat last summer. Fixed.
Yesterday morning I went to drive as usual and when I got on the highway and tried to switch to...
Did you get it recalibrated for the different tire size? If not then you need to subtract -3.2% from your (still excellent) numbers.
That would put you at 2.83 mi/kWh which is still phenomenal. I'm hoping for 2.5 when I get new tires (planning on going to 275/60/20 or may even try 55, from...
So actual efficiency for test #3 after adjusting for size difference is 1.94.
About +13% improvement over the comparable (same wheel) test #2.
If I get similar improvement from my stock 20s I'll get as much as 354mi (in conserve).
This is the way. The stock 20s are much better (forged) wheels than the 21s, and crucially you have a lot more tire options, like these excellent new Michelins. I specifically got my truck with 20s for this reason with the intent of swapping them to road tires for better efficiency.
Looks very nice.
I personally wouldn't want to do this due to reduced efficiency from the wheels offset (drag) and the more aggressive tires, as well as increased noise. Those are great tires though, had a set on my old Tacoma before. But with all the miles I'm driving lately I'm looking to go...
