My rear motors turn off when it is cold like that, and the dash tells me i have motor faults
Speed gets limited to 42 mph . Rivian is not built for cold.
Well, we don't want that to have to happen, but possibly some awareness by Rivian of parts issues will help to open up the repair market and parts availability.
It would be beneficial and more cost effective for us owners to have access to repair information and parts for repair. Right now, it seems like Rivian is constricting the ability of us consumers, thus costing us more to have to get repairs with certified shops. Essentially, this is where owners...

My deer hit to the front took 3 months and cost $37,000 total for repairs. Parts are a challenge to get from Rivian. Labor at certified Rivian repair shops cost more, so make sure the shop and insurance company have an agreed upon rate before starting any work.
We waited almost 3 months for a new hood to repair our R1s. Then when we did get one at the shop, it was already damaged. Parts from Rivian are a racket.
Drove on ice/sleet/snow mix in 19 degree weather and definitely grip much better than 21 inch Pirelli All Seasons. Not much slide with turns and good throttle grip.
I've have mine on 20inch Atomic rims for 2 weeks. Order direct with Goodyear and they will give you available shops to install. They have been great in snow.
Just swapped 21s for 20 inch Atomic rims and Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT 116, 275 60 r20. Slightly more tire noise, but with the radio on, I do not notice. They look great too. Speedometer is the same as my 21s, always reads 2mph faster than GPS mph.
