Updating wheels without service visit is coming soon!

I hope you are right, Rivian service said they are not allowed to sell Gen2 wheels to a Gen1 owner as of last week... I know they fit as I have them on my truck now. Believe me I want this just as bad as anyone.

Updating wheels without service visit is coming soon!

If you have a Gen 1 most likely you won't have this option in configurations. Currently the SC can't put this size on a Gen 1. Just had a service appt to do this on my Gen 1 and they said its not an option for Gen 1. Its so lame.

Beware, Beware the 12V Battery Warranty (Also positive Eastvale CA service center visit)

100% this has made me think about returning at the end of lease even though I have a smoking deal and looking at a different car. Very disappointing. Very reminiscent of Land Rover.

Beware, Beware the 12V Battery Warranty (Also positive Eastvale CA service center visit)

When I did my 7,500 service I asked about suspension failure and replacement costs. They quoted me $1,500 per damper plus labor. No way it exceeds $3k per corner. We will see though.

Beware, Beware the 12V Battery Warranty (Also positive Eastvale CA service center visit)

Please google the topic before commenting. Most Evs have switched to Li for low voltage and it’s a drop in. Tesla did this 4 years ago and OHM makes one for the Rivian. Infect the chemistry and design is much better than lead acid in an EV.

Beware, Beware the 12V Battery Warranty (Also positive Eastvale CA service center visit)

I watched the video on the single version replacement and it looks pretty easy to do your self. I would 100% replace it with a Litium ion based version.

Beware, Beware the 12V Battery Warranty (Also positive Eastvale CA service center visit)

So why is the 12 volt not covered by the 5year 60k miles comprehensive warranty? Tesla covers the 12v on this and so does every other car company. I don't think the Rivian one has an exclusion for the battery.

20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Considering a Gen 1 can't be factory programed to run the 275 /60 / R20 I doubt we will see it in any update in the next 18 months.

New MSW Type 52 Wheels in Gloss Black

So, after about 9k miles on the new setup I am getting 2.03M/kwh compared to 2.25M / kwh originally. This has mostly been winter driving so I will be interested to see where this number is at when I have had them on for a year. Other updates: Tire life at first rotation with 5k miles...

20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Its off by about 3mph showing to high. It's just crazy that they are restricting the 60 to Gen2... I have had mine on for the last 7.5k miles but with a new service center close I figured why not.

20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

So, I had an appointment today to change the tire size from the 21" diameter to the 275/60R20 and currently Rivian will not allow Gen 1 cars to have that tire option in the software, it does not even show up in the flashing section of the tool. Gen 1 can only be sized with the tires it offered...

    Brake Pad Replacement Cost 🤑

Premature inside pad ware on all 4 wheels seems like a manufacturing defect not normal use ware, this should be warrantied. I had this issue happen on my Hummer H2 at about 60k miles and GM replaced all pads at no charge including labor.

    Brake Pad Replacement Cost 🤑

This is the reason the 7,500 "inspection" is important. I am sure if you caught this lets say at 15k or 22.5k they would warranty all items. I was very concerned about this and will be doing one at 22.5k again to make sure wear is even. No reason all 4 should be wearing early on inside. You...

It’s 2025 — any predictions on when new Quad coming??

Its basic product pricing. If the price is attainable to the masses, then they jump from the Tri to the QM. The QM will be priced like an Electric G wagon as it's the only true competition with 4 motors. Have you looked at market pricing in the segment it competes in? I also provided data on...

It’s 2025 — any predictions on when new Quad coming??

That review was done at the launch of the G2 and under embargo until December 5th. They are guessing at the price. what's the delta between a DM and Tri? It's 23K with no options. No way Rivan prices the QM under $115k, they would completely canabalize sales of the TRI as it is optioned its...

It’s 2025 — any predictions on when new Quad coming??

Be prepared for sticker shock is all I can say. Starting price will be close to $130-140k with no options. Also expect significantly lower range than the Tri-Motor and original QM. I suspect it will have a range of 295 miles EPA. Other than the staggered setup for rims and 4 motors, options will...

I was just in park city and my phone had full bars 5G and no service. Bars don’t = actual signal strength. I have been in places with 2 bars and had extremely fast service.

Remember LTE is not 5G and much slower. I have issues with bars when in certain spots. Same as on my phone. the id loads your profile not your subscription. The car has a separate radio ID that needs the subscription.
