  1. Massive Price Hikes coming Feb 25th, up to $10,000 because of exchange rates.

How many are sold in Canada? It is a small market.
  2. Federal NEVI EV charger program cancelled

I think there can be a fair debate whether NEVI was needed given how EA, Tesla, Rivian and others have and are building out a national fast charging network. The biggest gain for all of us has been Tesla opening up the supercharger network rather than the handful of chargers planned through NEVI.
  3. 2026 Rivian R1S - when will they have more info on this?

I would expect the R2 steering wheel to come over in the 2027 R1. Provides an update and aligns their supply chain for that item.
  4. Federal NEVI EV charger program cancelled

Not sure why USAID was brought into this as it is irrelevant to a discussion on EVs. Also seems from reports that a lot of money was wasted and not spent on aid to needy people but on media like Politico and the BBC.
  5. Rivian Scale Model Cars Coming Soon 😉

I thought the tariffs were 10%.
  6. Federal NEVI EV charger program cancelled

Was a shame it took so long for the funding appropriated nearly four years ago to actually be spent. Also there is a strong case that this $5b is not needed since Tesla, EA, Rivian and others were building charging stations without the subsidy. In addition the subsidy locks in CCS.
  7. When will R1S Quad be available for ordering???? Getting irritated with Rivian...

Remember the OP is a cybertruck foundation owner so bragging rights are a given!
  8. RJ quote: more sensors (including radar & lidar) is a way to catch up to Tesla's camera-only autonomous driving system

Ah you are one of those that stretched the preorder pricing. Thanks for confirming.
  9. RJ quote: more sensors (including radar & lidar) is a way to catch up to Tesla's camera-only autonomous driving system

Another unjustifiably smug 2025 model year owner (with a very similar vehicle to a Gen 1) who overpaid.
  10. Had to reject delivery

Just checked the configurator and the app is correct that the dual max comes with wood as standard. They had made all dual motor adventure turns come with vinyl as standard and then up charge $700 to get wood. Wonder why they didn’t stick with that and make some more money.
  11. [LOCKED DUE TO INACCURATE FIGURES] Rivian U.S. Sales January 2025

Agreed January is a slow month but the YoY comparison takes that into account.
  12. [LOCKED DUE TO INACCURATE FIGURES] Rivian U.S. Sales January 2025

Tax credits are still available now. Were they reduced in 2025?
  13. [LOCKED DUE TO INACCURATE FIGURES] Rivian U.S. Sales January 2025

R1 is critical this year and will continue to be a source of revenue into the future. YoY can be compared because seasonal aspects are taken out. They are not production limited - hence the incentives.
  14. RJ says R2 expansion at Normal plant moving quickly!

Good for you. Back in the real world with hundreds of millions of drivers a hybrid has a 40-50% reduction in emissions compared to a typical ICE vehicle. With no special charging infrastructure, no change in the drivers habits (except going to the gas stations less often) and a small increase in...
  15. The story behind Tesla's charge port location

Rawlinson lost some credibility when he got a stupidly large $300M payout from Lucid and they only built something like 8000 vehicles.
  16. RJ says R2 expansion at Normal plant moving quickly!

Not sure that is true since hybrids are a very cost efficient and consumer friendly approach to reducing fuel usage significantly. The move to hybrids will reduce oil consumption significantly as we await BEVs to ramp up.
  17. What % of Rivian Parts Come From Mexico or Canada? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

from my recollection they got nothing they wanted (stopping military flights, stopping handcuffing, or stopping flights). Anyway let’s keep it on cars.
  18. What % of Rivian Parts Come From Mexico or Canada? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

Very hard for others to adapt to not having the US as a market. Germany is an export driven economy as is China so they absolutely need an economy that is 24% of the worlds economy but only 4% of the population. These tariffs will be short lived on Canada and Mexico once they enforce immigration...
