The door opening is also bad. The tent as a whole is poorly designed. Impractical for anything except sunny weather. Not surprised by that… they should’ve just worked with someone like ikamper or Roofspace to create a custom model and co-brand it. Let them handle production and storage, and give...
@portdirect & @zefram47 - They’ve had it in public with a rain fly. I forgot to take a photo from the outside, but here it is from the inside. It was a completely separate piece. It definitely seemed like water would pool in the middle.
I’m not the person you tagged, but there has been no noticeable loss over Pirellis. I just finished an 1,100 mile roadtrip including 300 miles off-road with a buddy who was on Pirellis. Neither of us had any accessories installed other than maxtrax over the bed. Nokian’s averaged 1.799 and...
I know, you've said that before, but even Pirelli offers a warranty on original equipment - but only on the first set purchased by the customer. So even the Scorpions have a warranty on the second set.
I'm just saying, I would've very likely bought them last week if they had the tread warranty...
Any reason why you went with the Reacon Grappler over the Nomad Grappler? The Nomad is about $50 cheaper, 3PMSF rated, 5k less tread warranty, but pretty much the same specs otherwise. Seems like the Nomads have a less aggressive tread.
I am a little surprised they haven't had a recall... I do think it changes that 115s are good enough as again they could be a huge issue for those of us who's vehicles didn't originally come with 115s and might run into legal issues later in a worst case scenario.
It is annoying that TireRack...
You might be right. R1T might classify as a pickup truck which is one thing, or truck, which is another and "truck" is still included in that sentence.
Pickup truck means a non-passenger automobile which has a passenger compartment and an open cargo area (bed).
Truck means a motor vehicle...
I agree with you that safety wise, I think p-metric 115s make no difference especially because how many of us are running our vehicles at max load.
My concern would be legality. If I were in an accident and some how insurance found out or the driver of another vehicle knew this information, I...
US Code of Federal Regulations 571.110 S4.2.2 - "When passenger car tires are installed on an MPV, truck, bus, or trailer, each tire's load rating is reduced by dividing it by 1.10 before determining, under S4.2.2.1, the sum of the maximum load ratings of the tires fitted to an axle."
P-metric...
I'll add a better explanation in the article, but according to the regulation "When passenger car tires are installed on an MPV, truck, bus, or trailer, each tire's load rating is reduced by dividing it by 1.10"
2679 / 1.10 = 2,435.45
MPV = multipurpose passenger vehicles or SUVs (*edit may...
Welp it has been a busy week. First, I returned the 115s and bought LTs, installed them at DT with no issues so I'm glad all that's done.
Second, I did some light bedtime reading of the transportation Federal Regulations and found out why DT won't install 115s and why Rivian quickly got rid of...
