Gen1 R1T, 30k miles, 2 years old. I've had mostly minor issues except for:
CV boot issue replaced both front halfshafts - price not listed on invoice, 2 hours to repair so $400 for labor, not sure what the parts cost but id guess its $800-$1000 each? so $2400 total.
rear spoiler replacement -...
under rear seat storage is where i keep it. i also store valuables and other equipment like the mobile charger, flat tire kit, tie down straps, air compressor hose, etc.
unless you have a case for it i wouldnt put it in the frunk or gear tunnel as it could roll around and get damaged.
Another test could be to charge it overnight and have it complete just before you leave to see what the battery temp is and what efficiency difference is.
Assuming you have the Gen1 large pack? Would be interesting to see side by side with a Gen2 large pack.
Anyone hear any update on this? I know they are trying to expedite the finalization of the $6.6 billion dollar loan before the new administration comes in. Not sure if their plans for the factory hinge on this or if they can proceed without it.
why dump Compass Yellow and then add this? its going to have the same if not lower take rate. i get they might want a new color for the new quad but this is risky.
it also doesn't fit their previous MO of not leaking colors. my guess is this is a "test" to see how folks respond.
id go...
This sounds like something that might void the warranty. You can’t just hack the infotainment without bringing attention to Rivian.
Also why would you create a whole separate infotainment? It’s one thing to add AA or CP. And how is one person going to maintain this over time? Is this going to...
The HVAC on gen2 is as loud as gen1. The difference is that inside the cabin you hear a lot less in the gen2 because they moved the compressor towards the front of the vehicle away from the cabin.
If you're mainly commuting and don't need to haul stuff, even sporadically, I'd get the Ioniq 5...
I think it looks alright, definitely better than before. CT lights in the front, R23 lights in the back. They do like to copy Rivian design so not a surprise.
For me, the key fob for Gen1 is honestly the worst user experience of the entire vehicle. Super frustrating to press it 5,6,7,8... times before it responds, while other times it works on the first press. There's no rhyme or reason. i've had it re-synced by Rivian service a couple of times...
saw that last week. yikes! looks it is had the 20 AT tires but as you noted, you'd need snow tires or a more experienced driver to reduce chance of that. on top of that, the stock 20" pirellis are not even Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rated
Glad that worked out for you. DT contacted me through this forum after seeing my post. Said they would call the location where my vehicle was damaged and would have the manager call me. Never did. Back and forth a few times but manager still never called. I called that location and was told...
I noticed this morning 4 R1Ss in the Demo Shop. Typically, those sell fast or are not available. There's even a 2025 Gen2 for those wanting to save but still get the latest version. You're welcome.
