I happened upon this Rivian key fob leather cover. (Same product here, and mentioned here.) Judging by...
Sorry to hear that happened. :( I like the looks of your truck, from what I can see of it in your photo. If you still like the idea of covers, maybe black?
I know, I know. What can I say...?
...Except that people are buying these things. And there are many sources for them, with a relatively wide range of prices (e.g., $5 to $30 per pair). I would argue that they are news-worthy and worth discussion. Besides, they are fun. For those who...
Besides functional (and often expensive) accessories (like wheel-tire sets, running boards, etc.), I'm also occasionally interested in purely cosmetic stuff--like brake caliper colors and--of all things--tow hook covers.* One day I saw a photo of a Gen 1 Quad with yellow brake calipers and...
@McLeod
This is interesting. For the benefit of readers new to the whole (Rivian) wheel-tire thing, here are some bullet points (using this website for calculations):
@kanundrum's original wheel-set: Rivian OEM 22" Sport Bright (with 275/50R22 [33" Pirelli] tires).

(Ignore any wheel/tire...
As I read more and more within this Forum site, it is interesting to see that (tire/wheel) issues being discussed/debated today were also 'hot' topics back even before the first Rivians were released to the general public. For example, a pair of December 2020 posts:
What wheel size and what...
Glad to see that Sonoran desert habitat is still there in Arizona. Spent several years in the Phoenix area at grad school in Tempe. No 4x4 in those days, only an old '63 Ford Falcon! Trained in herpetology, loved hiking in the spring and seeing the scaly critters (plus other wildlife). Some...
I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that alcohol or substance abuse was involved in this accident.
So glad that you and family are OK. (Hope injuries in other cars involved were minor.)
One silver-lining: You get to plan for a new Rivian! Will you get a duplicate of your savior car...
Voltaic forged wheels with 275/60R20 (33") OEM(?) Goodyear tires, correct?
That is cool that you can put Rivian-insignia center caps back into those Black Rhino aftermarket wheels.
No problem with the slightly different offset of the Voltaics?
Did you have them powder-coated black? (The matte...
Interesting.
This may support a theory—that the longest range may be possible (not by the 22” wheel-set, but) by 20” wheels with 34” (pavement-favoring) (with higher-profile = larger sidewall height) tires. I hope to test that later this year.
Good discussion. For those new to Rivian (wheels/tires), Rivian may update software (in 2025?) to provide drivers the ability to conveniently reprogram speedometer software (for OEM wheel-sets). If so, switching between 33” and 34” diameter tires (currently found on Rivian OWM 20”, 21”, and 22”...
January 6, 2025 Update: Based on a (still) small sample size (maybe 25-30 responses by drivers on Reddit and Rivian Forums) is seems that Rivian is still outfitting Gen 2 All-Terrain Package cars with 275/65R20 (34") tires. (So far, no one has reported the 275/60R20 AT tire on a new 2025 Gen 2...
Yes. For example, I noticed that the Davis, California Superchargers (off I-80 just west of Sacramento; they've been there since January 19, 2021; 16 stalls) do not appear to be on the Rivian map. I assume that Rivian vehicles can charge there? (Maybe not? Haven't see an R1T or R1S there so far...
I am planning (assuming the Country doesn't implode) on purchasing an R1S in 2025; probably in the fourth quarter. Right now my target is the R1S Tri Max.(Somewhat less likely but possible: Quad Max or Dual Max.) To help alleviate angst from my innate impatience, I've already started "window...
I could be wrong, but that is what I am also thinking--that much of it is down to the current market and to 'automotive fashion' (that says low-profile tires are "in").
Lower profile tires on larger wheels have become, over time, a very popular feature on all kind of cars. I can somewhat...
Based on the (so many!) posts (see small bibliography at the end of this post, here) about wheel/tires (on this Forum site alone), I currently plan to (later this year) consider a 2025/2026 Max-battery-equipped R1S with 20" wheels* (hence the All-Terrain Package) and (immediately?) switch out...
Good discussion.
Happened to visit a Rivian service center (West Sacramento, California) on Christmas Eve, and while chatting with the sales agents (desperate to encourage me to buy one of the inventory vehicles on the lot right then and there), they reminded me that switching tire size may...
Interesting thread, as it highlights one of the more pressing issues (some) Rivian drivers face around wheels and tires. There were probably many drivers (who innocently ordered the optional 21-inch wheels and) who went through the same thing when it was time to replace the rubber. (How many...
