I also came across this somehow a few days ago and message you on the website. count me in for one as long as video is not disabled while moving. I feel that it is my own responsibility to look at the road while driving even if my passenger wants to watch youtube. please give us freedom!
Is the gen2 quad actually quicker than the tri? It’s only got about 8% more tq and while it might have 20% more HP I believe it is all added to the front. I would attribute the better 0-60 almost 100% to the better tires. And droping the 0-60 by .4 might on its own = the .6 in the 1/4
Thank you for the straight forward answers. This is disappointing for me as long term I was actually interested in trying to do something like the pikes peak hill clime that Rivian did or possibly even get a custom big break kit and just give the truck a go on a track but unfortunately 110 is...
Can you drive the truck around in launch mode? Silly question I know but what I mean by this is say after you launch (or posibly dont) will it stay in this mode. enabling the higher Vmax and posibly any power it takes off the table in other modes? Can you enable launch mode while moving ...
11.2 on an unprepared surface with no rollout is significantly faster than the gen 1 quad. Everyone including Rivian is pitching the tri as = to the gen 1 quad and the gen 2 quad as this big leap over the tri but i dont think that will be the case. From what I have read the gen 2 tri and...
I too have seen a video where RJ says Sport has xxx more: I think he used the word "power". I would love to see a dyno curve of each model in each mode. Some 3rd party software like the tesla "Sexy buttons" would be amazing. I am also so glad to see there are some other guys out here...
I Truly hope not. I never put much faith in the "acceleration bar" as no one ever said what it was displaying, in my mind im thinking is it: Throttle position, G force, power output. power output/max limit. requested power, some mix of things? Once I got into the Service screens and found...
I think we all now agree this is True. but I thought more on Why??
After watching a teardown of the Gen1 quad by Monro Live they state that the rear motors combined make 420hp and the front 415 lets just call that a 50/50 split.
As any good SPORTs car enthusiast knows you want some...
My truck has the 20 rims with 34" AT. This would certainly make sense for Rivian to do to manage traction and posibly even to compensate for the ~2-3% smaller diameter of the other wheel setup. However I would think this would no longer apply after say 65mph where we are still seeing reduced...
Suspension on Firm, low ride hight for both sport and AP pulls. Done back to back after battery temp was 80 F. 90+ Soc.
I repeat the experiment dozens of times mixing a few of these up but always the same result. Full power in AP, limited power from sport (over 40 Mph)
3.5 in sport 4.0 + in AP on average. Im not a big fan of using 0-60 times as a metric once cars get under 4 seconds as road conditions/traction becomes such a huge variable. But in this case I guess it matters as we are seeing the truck behave differently at different speeds.
so you have the new Tri? If so I’m dying to know what the max amp draw on that one is. Do you see the same thing as we do with the gen 1 with the bar only maxing out in AP or sport at launch?
You are correct. No question 0-60 is quicker in sport. Draggy confirmed and confirmed 1/4 mile time at a real track sport is faster. Sport is more fun in every way especially throttle response. Without 3rd party software or something it’s way to hard to try and capture amps and volts...
Did your post Spark a good conversation? is so can you drop the link?
I can not believe this is not a huge discussion? Sometime I feel like im one of very few who purchased (at the time) the quickest pickup truck ever made for that reason.
We are all driving around in $100k supercar fast...
