My PDM initially lost up to 4% daily, sometimes even moren (an aside: Rivian CS told me when I phoned them that this was normal and that it would not be unusual for drain to be as much as 12% each day - not a typo - something that obviously was nonsense). Drain varied quite a bit day to day, but...
IMO, the styling of all Tesla's, excepting of course the CT, is best described as bland and inoffensive. The new MY represents a marginal improvement on the looks of the old model, but its overall theme certainly doesn't break away from the unremarkable style that defines Tesla..
I spent a huge amount of time in India, and have many memorable (some not in a good way) stories I could share about travel by automobile and tuk tuk there. Road travel in India, at least in the cities, is the very definition of chaos, and the life span of an incompetent Indian driver would be...
Not to keep pushing this thread off-topic, but speaking as someone who worked and lived in Great Britain for more than a few years, I can confidently assert that most US drivers would never be granted a driving license there. This is not because the British drive on the left but rather due to...
Much the same here, except that I'd say the percentage is closer to 95% to 98%. The few EV skeptics/haters that I've run into all seem to be badly misinformed and pretty set in their views. I just mention that my truck is made in Illinois and that as a veteran, I'm proud to drive American.
I also took delivery of a new R1T in June, just a few days later than you. Since Rivian was fulfilling the adapters roughly in delivery order, those of us with relatively recent deliveries had a bit of a wait. In my case, things followed the usual routine of several emails asking owners to...
My experience is similar on my Gen 1 R1T; not dead silent, but no squeaks, groans, rattles, etc.. The truck is a 2024, with a VIN in the low 30,000 range, so likely has the upgraded design.

On a [hopefully] more pleasant note, I see you are in Utah, one of the best places in all of North America. We visit often and will be there yet again in late Feb for a few weeks of skiing, mostly in the Wasatch Front areas...
Yikes! That's really a poor design and some cheap manufacturing to boot. Obviously a warranty fix, but annoying to have to do that on a brand new PTC.
I had to wait six months for my tonneau cover, which was installed just a little while ago, Thanksgiving week. It's only been cycled a few...
Kudos to @suprteck for the tip about the wiper blade inserts. Definitely worth a try.
Along the same lines, there was a thread back in October with some testing data on the OEM and replacement cabin air filters. The performance of the OEM (Mann) filter was not great, due primarily to poor...
I'm really looking forward to getting the 2024.47 OTA update; Rivian support assures me it's coming soon and should be pushed to my R1T before the end of the first quarter in 2025.
Just joking. Not about not getting the update - I'm still waiting for it - but about when. Rivian support has no...
I have fond memories of my Beetle and Vanagon, and would have considered the ID.Buzz. I think VW did a decent job in the looks department with it, but is very wide of the mark elsewhere. The combination of very modest range and luxury-car level pricing is one that will not likely lead to many sales.
I had some difficulty locating and accessing the actual building for my appointment at the Trenton SC just before Thanksgiving. There are no signs, the entrance is at the rear of the structure and the building is shared with another operation, a bus service I believe. When I mentioned this to...
My experience with a Rivian SC is very limited, a one-time visit about six months after taking delivery to have some panel gaps taken care of and the tonneau cover of the R1T installed. Rivian originally wanted me to go to Brooklyn, which is only 125 miles away but can easily be a four-plus hour...
Good to know I'm not alone. I hope this is not a thinly disguised attempt to get the 15% of us who haven't subscribed to Connect+ to reconsider that decision.
Are there any others out there who, like me, are still waiting for this update?
Edit: I contacted Rivian CS this morning (10:43 EST 12/24) and asked if there was reason that the latest update had not yet been pushed to me. The response was not particularly helpful and almost seems to have been...
This happened to me for the first time last week.
For overnight charging, which is nearly always the case for me, I set my the level manually to a rather low 20 amp rate because time isn't an issue and correctly or not, I think it's better for battery longevity. I also use the custom level of...
A few months ago, in trying to plan a trip from the Phila suburbs to SLC in our R1T for our annual ski vacation, I was unpleasantly surprised by some of the DCFC pricing I saw. More than a few charging locations were close to $1.00/kWh and at least handful over that; nearly all of the very...
