I also have the Kuat Piston SR, bought it long before Rivian was offering them. I like it a lot and feel like it is similar to the 1UP option, just a little more modern. Works great on the OEM crossbars.

I purchased the Piston SR for my R1T this spring and I love it. Only thing besides the 1-Up that would hold my XL XC bike on the truck. Glad to see it is quasi-officially Rivian approved. Definitely hangs over the back though…

Folded up with no bike, mine overhangs about 6” beyond the tailgate. I could possibly slide it 1” closer to the cab but appreciate the bit of buffer when I open the front hoop.

This post cost me $200! I was planning on getting the 1-Up roof rack since I don't like the thought of having my bike hanging off a hitch, and my 29" XL XC bike would not fit on anything else. I had not ever considered Kuat but the Piston SR functions much like the 1-Up but looks so much better...
