DUH, of course this was going to happen.
As Zoidz said, the world is a pretty interdependent place where most countries rely on others for raw and finished materials and products. One can't just unilaterally make decisions against other countries and then act surprised by the reaction they...
I'll take one in Jan when on my roadtrip. Sometimes the far right space is handicapped as well, so plenty of room. Other times I come around the grass/gravel/forest on the other side of the charger bank. People walking their dog look at me funny but I don't block their charging so they don't...
Put your vehicle on high and jump the curb at right end of the stalls. Never blocked a stall, just parked halfway on the curb grass. No-one said the vehicle must be level to charge right?
There isn't a standard for rolling resistance, so while ideal, it's impossible to compare tires using this metric. There's also a couple studies that the EV Tire rating from manufacturers is essentially meaningless these days when looking to maximize range. One day they'll be a standard but...
Just grabbed another (much cheaper than R1) EV using the lease credit for another family vehicle my daughter can drive giving us some freedom. The price was $50 less per month than a honda civic/toyota corolla or much much less than an accord or camry seemly standard kiddo cars prior to the...
Did the same thing on my last trip, will buy another month when we roadtrip to Tampa from ATL next month. As you indicated it's about a batteries worth of charge to break even (2 charges 20-70%), so 400+ miles roundtrip is my benchmark to buy a month of membership.
I've had the door bags for my R1T for about a year now and each bag has a USB-C->USB-C and a USB-C->Lightning cord. EZPZ on road trips for everyone to charge their devices without asking questions.
Yep, not surprised. Love the R1T, but starting to make rear motor clutch noises on engagement and disengagement. Sure they'll replace the rear motor or whatever under warranty, but it's only been 13K miles.
No sir, I'm (and others) are directly quoting Rivian (or RJ) on loss per vehicle, not just saying lost. Read their earnings statement.
Of course it's based on R&D spend before delivering vehicles, but in the end it's all about profit/loss per vehicle just like any other manufacturer.
So many threads on removed items/features versus Gen 1, but DUH, they were losing ~$35K per vehicle down from $70+K on early R1's. A lot of efficiencies in build of materials, better BOM pricing, construction design and techniques along with removing complexities add up to $35K.
My late Dec23...
Welcome to America, same as Blue Laws in the south that regulate when and where one can and cannot sell alcohol based on the day and time. Car dealers have a fraction of the influence over laws compared to Religious organizations, but all categories of businesses engage in essentially bribing...
Who cares, this is a Rivian forum.
Tesla FSD is nothing more than a scam and has been for years. Pay $XX,XXX for something that is coming in the future that still isn't here, namely Full-Self-Driving. Sure their cars can drive from here to there while you watch, OR they crash into stationary...
Smart move. They'll send you a check, probably not fast enough but they will send one.
I had issues, but not to that level, BUT if they were, I would have bailed in an instant. Even kept another key to my trade in case and when all was good I told them forgot to give you this key.
I guess I still don't understand why people aren't just going to Rivian when they have issues with their R1's. Internet forums aren't really filled with Rivian experts, just Rivian owners and if there's a problem we'll just comment, commiserate, ask more (maybe dumb) questions and you'll still...
Called support this morning and they saw it had disconnected during the update and hadn't restarted. They killed the update and pushed a new one. Showed up in about an hour or so this morning. Just got home and updated The Ag.
R2 isn't coming for 2 years and there will be 100% NO change to Rivian's strategy regardless of what happens. No company is going to outsmart whatever happens just like the pandemic and subsequent supply chain issues that followed in 2020-2022.
