I know there are significant variables involved and I don't have a lot if info to share about my potential claim but, I'm hoping to get some feedback from others who have been through something similar. All (serious) feedback welcome but especially hoping to hear from anyone in TX with...
Is it really a problem? It's definitely a marketing problem for Rivian. But even the least reliable vehicles on the market are still pretty reliable these days and every brand has problems. Just this morning i was reading about an ICE Bronco that had to be lemoned. Yet I've had nearly 2 years in...
Spot on. No single defense is ever likely to be foolproof, that's why the cybersecurity industry advocates for what we refer to as defense in depth security. The more layers of security, the more likely you are to successfully protect a resource. The fact that so many people tend to re-use the...
This has been optional for about 3 years now, I think. Glad to see they're making it mandatory, I know it's something I enabled when it was first implemented. Hopefully they'll add support for push notifications and passkeys in the near future.
The impact won't be just to Rivian or even just EVs. The price of many ICE vehicles as well as consumer goods could go up. We'll just have to wait and see how things play out.
Well, that's a completely different issue altogether. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean Rivian owes you additional freebies. As for being too expensive, Rivian is still struggling to reach positive gross profit per vehicle and that's with price increases and cost-cutting measures.
You seem to be overlooking that fact that Rivian extended a nearly $20k price reduction to early Gen 1 adopters. They shouldn't need to offer any other gestures.
What you are overlooking is that the low-voltage and high-voltage systems are completely separate. The electronics being developed by the JV are not the high-voltage powertrain components (battery, motors, inverters) and the infotainment computers, body controllers, etc are most certainly not...
If Rivian goes under. Do you understand what happens if Rivian goes under? All of their assets, which includes all of their IP, go up for sale through bankruptcy proceedings. Now, VW basically just gets first dibs. This is a total nothingburger.
If you truly need that little extra bit of range, I wouldn't worry about the tire wear. It's not going to make a meaningful difference in tread wear over what amounts to 1-2% of the life of the tire if your alignment is good. However, you'd probably have more impact on range driving 5-10 mph...
To be safe, also check both sides of the connection (plug and port) for any signs of contamination (bugs, dirt, etc) and for any signs of scorching or melting.
Correct. However, if you can truly sell for $10k more than the trade-in, you should probably do that as that is significantly more than the sales tax on any R1.
