I definitely understand your disappointment here. I'm aware there's room for improvement and hopefully we can get it sorted out. Iāve been working and testing a lot of different things to help performance. Dust is definitely trickier than water, mostly because it comes from underneath the truck...
This has been simmering on the back burner for quite some time now, but I think weāve finally come up with a solid option. The big question is whether or not anyone is really interested. The idea is that 3 of the panels from the interrobang tonneau cover form a tabletop and sit on this frame...
I can vouch for the tonneau cover's ability to handle the weight, but I can't make any guarantees on the weight limit of the trucks rails themselves. We've torture tested the tonneau cover to 800lbs+ without seeing any issues, but that was in a frame we built because I love my R1T and don't want...
I've actually been thinking about this lately too. I was really looking forward to the PTC before I got my truck and definitely get the convenience of it. If/when retrofits become available I may jump on it myself. But, you'd better believe I'll baby the thing. I think our interrobang covers...
The power outlets are still accessible and based on the feedback we're getting I'm adding a locking mechanism to keep everything nice and secure while it's in the tunnel.
Something akin to an adjustable end stop has been discussed, but it seems like adding the locking mechanism back in might be a more desirable solution.
We've had to deal with quite a bit of variance on the tonneau side of things, so this is definitely a concern of ours. Our current thought is that with some simple spacers, maybe 1/4" high or so, the fit could be dialed in and adjusted to raise up the mounting brackets incrementally to suit the...
My truck has seen some things. My doors are really beat up from testing the countless prototypes. We are quite aware that no one is going to want their doors looking like mine, so we're putting a lot of thought into how to keep the slide as close to the door as possible, while preventing damage...
The tray fits closely enough to the hatch doors that itās held in place pretty well. It doesnāt really have the space to bang around. The reason it got nixed from the final build was that it was either too complicated and an obvious failure point, or youād have to unlock it from both sides...
No locking mechanism, we found it to be unnecessary. Itās glides easily, but not too easily if that makes sense. We have spacers to adjust the height and dial it in for your specific truck. I did manage to scrape my door a little when my air compressor compartment didnāt close all the way.
As long as itās evenly distributed, at least 200lbs. I havenāt broken it yet, so I havenāt really found the limit. Iāve been torture testing it, and so far itās handled everything Iāve thrown at it.
Looks awesome. I've been considering something similar. RTT is cool and all, but it sure would be great to leave everything in its place. You'll have to let us know how it goes.
Thereās a trim piece that needs popped off on each side, then itās just positioning and tightening 4 thumb screws. Probably similar to most of the other ones, but the sides of the tray make it really easy to slide in by yourself. Itās definitely easier with a friend, but I can do it myself in a...
Here's a quick look at the finalized version of our Gear Glide Tunnel Tray. This has been in the making for over 18 months and we've finally distilled it down to what we feel is the simplest and most versatile form. The tray is a single, continuous piece made from the same powder coated...
I havenāt actually seen Rivianās cover in person, so Iām not sure. I donāt see why it wouldnāt though. Youād just have to figure out whereās a safe spot to mount the hardware.
