NACS (native Tesla charging port) January 1st??

I agree with the overall sentiment of wanting to distance from Tesla, but I don't feel like this hill of specific components to swap from ac/dc is worth worrying about. Anyone can produce these components, they are public. As more car manufactures swap to nacs, more suppliers will pop up or...

NACS (native Tesla charging port) January 1st??

I'm pretty sure Rivan has said that they will be making the port themselves. I mean the specs on how to make them are public now. No reason for Rivian to have to purchase them from Tesla.

NACS (native Tesla charging port) January 1st??

My guess is they launch R2's in 2025 just like they launched R1's in "2021". Employee deliveries in nov/dec and customer deliveries in dec/jan.

NACS (native Tesla charging port) January 1st??

It doesn't really change anything from the current situation, you can always use a ccs -> nacs adapter to charge at EA/Rivian stations like you can now in reverse at tesla. Even if Rivian doesn't supply an adapter at launch you can always purchase one from Tesla/Third Parties like A2Z, ect.

NACS (native Tesla charging port) January 1st??

The terminology they used was "Starting in 2025". So any date in 2025 is valid for that to be correct. Don't get your hopes up, they may not update the R1's with a nacs port until R2 comes out late next year/early 2026. Or they might just before the R2 comes out. Anything is possible and nobody...

    Supercharger Advice and Info Help

Of the three options: Superchargers - every available superchargers for Tesla's to use, this includes v1-4 stations. Superchargers open to other EV's - Stations equipped with built in ccs adapters, these are also known as "magic dock" stations. These superchargers are open to any EV...

    Nokian Outpost nAT Size?

All fair points you bring up. My OEM 20" tires are still going strong after 22k miles, and will last for another 5-10k more. But these are at the top of my list for replacing them when that time comes, and I plan on going with 275 60 R20 when that does happen to keep the price and weight down.

Kitchen Cruiser (Camping Kitchen) on Kickstarter!

You are correct it is 17" to the underside of the tonneau. The height of the unit was the first thing I looked for as well. I guess you could lay it on its back as it's only 16" deep but IDK.

JerryRigEverything 2 year R1T review video w/ look @ tonneau cover and windshield replacement

I'm with you. My truck was produced 1 week after they stopped making trucks with the PTC. Was removed from my configuration and they notified me afterwards. So already in the bummed camp from that, as it was one of the features that I was looking forward to having, even if it broke and I got a...

First charge using the A2Z adapter

Notice the "damp cloth". The old supercharger v2 strategy was because the handles did not get cooled well enough in direct sunlight and would de rate the charging session as they were not liquid cooled at the time, so the old strategy was to get some sort of microfiber cloth, soak it in water...

First charge using the A2Z adapter

Here is the thought process on how I figured it was the adapter: 1: The supercharger was had 52 stalls and was empty. 2: The cable and handle were in check for temp. 3: The adapter was much hotter then it was the other times I used it. 4: The truck was telling me that the charger was de rating...

For those with no spare or who have changed over…

Just to add a data point, I have the spare with kit from Rivian. I also have aftermarket jack pucks and a bottle jack. Have had my truck for a year and a half and haven't had to use it until the first hour of a 1300mi road trip I just got back from Tuesday. Driving on the highway when the truck...

First charge using the A2Z adapter

Got back from a 1300 mi road trip, used the adapter 8 total times, every time worked great. Even got hot enough in direct sunlight to cause the adapter to heat up enough to trigger the charger to de rate the dispenser. De rated to around 40-45KW, and caused the truck to think that the...

UPDATED: Warning - Safety Defect Found with Lectron NACS Adapter

The UL standard does not exist yet, it is still in the works. Therefore no adapter can meet any UL approval as there is none, that means even Tesla's adapter does not meet UL Approval. For what its worth both A2Z and Lectron have claimed that they are in line with the current specs that the UL...

A2Z NACS To CCS1 Adapter Review

I'm regretting not doing the same. UPS has had mine for 6 days and it hasn't moved. Every day the delivery date keeps changing to a later date. Hoping it would have been here before my road trip end of next week but it seems like it will not be here in time which would be unfortunate.

A2Z NACS To CCS1 Adapter Review

Did anyone's order get stuck in stuck waiting in a UPS warehouse while waiting for clearance for 4+days, seeing multiple people getting their adapter 2-3 days after it shipped. Not blaming A2Z for UPS taking a while just wondering if anyone else is having that happen to them. Also the package...
