I would pick the A2Z for the workmanship, but I would pick the Rivian/Tesla for it being the only adapter that is approved for use on the Tesla Supercharger Network. I hope this changes in the future and A2Z is approved for use by Tesla.
One more thing - if you want the fastest possible charge rate, make sure you get an adapter can give you a sustained usable 48 amp which is the highest the Rivian can go on AC.
Yes, you need a NACS AC to J1772 adapter if you want to use your Tesla wall unit on your Rivian.
Here's an example from A2Z: https://a2zevshop.com/products/a2z-stellar-plug
To clarify - I have no doubt they'll get to me, I was just curious if you see the tracking status in your account order history on their website. I see all three orders I've ever placed with A2Z on there, (V1, V2, and the safety replacement). V1 and V2 show as delivered with tracking info, and...
Does it show up on your account history on the A2Z site? I see the order on mine, but it's stopped at "CONFIRMED" as of Nov 15. No tracking info yet. I presume it's in some kind of staging step and they're waiting for the next batch to send out.
I named my Airstream Silver Shell, so naturally the Rivian that pulls it is known as XJ-9.
for those who donāt have kids or donāt enjoy animated shows - My Life as a Teenage Robot.
As someone who has spent some time with heavily modified Jeeps and Subarus needing service work at the dealership Iām used to the idea that I need to remove any aftermarket accessories that will get in the way of any work being done. This is good advice to any automotive enthusiast that isnāt...
Hang on a sec - Tesla and Rivian say they will not support the use of third party adapters and if anything happens, you're liable. So does this now mean Tesla accepts the use of the Typhoon Pro as it meets its safety requirements?
As an owner of 3 EVās for over 5 years now - I charge to 85 on a normal basis, 100 right before a long trip.
I expect to keep my cars for around 6 years at a time and the batteries are warrantied to a little bit more than that so no worries.
the life of the batteries have never degraded to the...
Just adding confirming datapoints - I've had outages with both my Tesla Wall Unit as well as the Rivian portable - both resulted in the Rivian reporting a charging error upon power interruption and then once power was restored, charging came back on without intervention.
Taking into account the new information thatwas confirmed by Scout as reported on the Scout EV Forum:
79.9 inches without mirrors and 91.1" with mirrors.
The R1T is 81.8 inches wide with the side mirrors folded, and 87.1 inches wide with the mirrors extended. So width-wise, it's pretty...
I think the dimensions aren't right as published. Based on the reveal, there's no way that truck is 10 inches wider than the R1T. Even if you count mirror edge to mirror edge, the ratio of width to height doesn't seem right.
As for longer, yeah that's going to be a problem for tight garages...
And this is exactly why I put a reservation in for the Terra with Range Extender - I tow on a regular basis and while the R1T has performed admirably, the number of times I have to stop and charge and the length of time I sit there makes long trips a chore. The Terra with its 800v charging...
The sound experience is exactly what you hear today when you stream your phone audio to the Rivian.
If you like using thing like Waze on your phone then itāll be worth it to you to see that on the EVS screen.
If youāre fine with looking at apps on your phone then you donāt need it.
Yeah you're absolutely right and this is why I'm waiting to see some real world results.
The Silverado EV and Sierra EV models are straight out beasts with their large batteries and 440 mile non-towing range, but I also don't want to get an EV truck with a rear-mounted charge port. I'd prefer a...
I have 22.5K miles on my '23 R1T Quad Large so I'm not yet prepared to take advantage of the trade-in offer as I'll lose too much on that transaction. That said, if and when I were to do it, that would be the exact configuration I go for - Dual Max to try and get as much range as possible while...
