Snow Mode--still too much regenerative braking

Ya, so much bad info in this thread it's kinda crazy.

Best practices for driving in extreme cold

But yes, heating the person instead of heating the air is always best.

Best practices for driving in extreme cold

Average heat pump is 3-4x more efficient than anything with a resistive element.

Snow Mode--still too much regenerative braking

Very slick roads here today and just went and verified there is indeed ABS style braking on regen as well. It stopped very quickly on just Conserve mode (which only uses the front axle). The ABS/stability icon even came up on the screen when it slowed down. I did not touch the friction brakes at...

Best practices for driving in extreme cold

And for those that have heat pumps those are way more efficient than what we have in the Gen1.

Best practices for driving in extreme cold

Is your vehicle with the new heat pump or the old heating system?

Snow Mode--still too much regenerative braking

Our X has the worst. The 3 and the Y were about as strong as the Rivian.

Snow Mode--still too much regenerative braking

This isn't accurate. I've owned 3 Tesla's and now a Rivian(still own a Y). Rivian is barely more regen. Almost the same.

    Firewood capacity: 1/4 cord

Side question, how is firewood measured? How did you know that was 1/4 cord?

Dyson heater - powering with Rivian?

Would be great if OP just came back and told us the results. Haha.

Snow Mode--still too much regenerative braking

I don't think this is accurate guys. Whenever I've "braked" hard by lifting off the accelerator in slippery conditions I've always had ABS. I think it would be illegal to not have it.

Dyson heater - powering with Rivian?

I don't believe Dyson heaters (at least ours) has a high or low setting. It only has a temp controlled setting that cycles either high or off. Most cheaper space heaters have a high and low. Low for most of those is around 1100W.

Anyone Have Tesla Powerwall or Solar?

So basically net metering. That's a pretty good deal. What percentage of your overall needs do you expect to produce the least sunny months?

Anyone Have Tesla Powerwall or Solar?

Good call. It's very rare for someone to say they regret having more panels. What are you paid for energy sent to the grid?

Anyone Have Tesla Powerwall or Solar?

OMG, that's a huge system! Love it! Literally 10x the size of ours. We have 2 EVs as well.

Anyone Have Tesla Powerwall or Solar?

Do you mean they buy it back at half of whatever you pay? If so, that's not terrible. I pay like 9 cents here and they pay me back at around 3 cents.

    Towing Mode Automatic Now?

Is there a way to engage tow mode if it doesn't detect the 7pin?

    Hitch Vertical Weight Limit

With how heavy ebikes are these days it's not hard to get above that 160 lbs limit on the Model Y real quick.

    Conserve Misconception

Yep, I've long known (as someone that has done both) that is takes far more skill to drive efficiently than it does to drive like everyone else does, or faster.
