    Solid State Batteries?

Yes, but it will probably be a number of years (5-10) before solid state batteries are being produced in commercial quantities.

Rivian announces 7-Seat version with longer range

Once we have these numbers (post #69 above) for the Rivian, we should be able to better estimate the actual range of our vehicles for a stated use. With a little real world use, we should be able to adjust for our leadfootedness or lack there of.

Rivian announces 7-Seat version with longer range

In the ICE world, the EPA ratings show city mileage and highway mileage on the stickeer (at least the last time I bought a car). It would probably be more useful to consumers if they did the same for Evs. One should keep in mind that ICE vehicles usually get better mileage on the highway than...

    5 Seat versus 7 seat

You can just log in, view configuration and then change configuration. Doesn't seem to hard to me.

What We Know - Collecting Information Directly From Rivian

One thing to keep in mind is that these vehicles will weigh substantially more than equivalent ICE vehicles, so you will need tires rated for the weight of the vehicle.

    roof shade/cover?

No, we went from Electrochomitic (pre release) to photochromic? to tinted glass?

What will be the EPA rating for the 135KWh R1T?

The interesting thing about the Taycan is that it beat the EPA at 70mph.

What will be the EPA rating for the 135KWh R1T?

It depends on how good their estimates were. We've also heard that the large(135?) pack has done better than expected in their range tests. Also, some cars do better than their EPA rating (Porsche Taycon) and some cars do worse than their EPA rating (most others, especially at highway speeds...

What We Know - Collecting Information Directly From Rivian

It might, I may have used the wrong word. Photo-chromatic is the correct word, I think.

    Battery Upgrade?

I found some educational tidbits in the discussion. Mostly, it makes me want regulatory bodies to step in and force the manufactures to give us actual data on the battery packs.

Poll on additional cost for 400 mile version

Well it is 10k on R1T so you'll have to pay more or go without.

What We Know - Collecting Information Directly From Rivian

If you have a camper shell on the truck, I don't think you will be moving the tailgate, so it is only the gear tunnel control you need to worry about.

    R1T and Mountain Biking

Not everyone. I've ridden an ebike (although not for very long) and have no intention of getting one (although at the end of some longer rides I regret not having one).

Find your Rivian Order Number & Post it Here!

If your preorder was after August 2020, then it isn't a terribly useful number. They adjusted the numbering system at that time. I don't think we have collected enough data to determine if there is a pattern to the adjusted numbers. There was a 20k? jump in the numbers between December 2019...

Poll on additional cost for 400 mile version

It might already be there. We will just have to wait and see what the actual numbers are. I am actually more interested in the range at 70 miles an hour than the EPA estimated range.
