We looked at the NuCamps, but they were a little too small for us. Do they make them with induction stoves and built-in EcoFlow hubs/batteries/solar panels now??
When you say "Rivian trips at 13A" does it start back up on its own after tripping, or do you have to do something to get the outlets...
Just a couple of inflatable pontoon boats. Photo of mine being hauled by my Bolt.
Have not yet figured out what has happened to the AC power outlets. Have a service ticket submitted and awaiting an appointment to get repaired.
FINALLY made it down to the stunning Newberry Volcano area in E. Oregon. Towed our 2024 "all-electric" Aliner AMP trailer from E. Washington to Oregon and back.
Towing miles 821, efficiency 1.34. Used some great charging locations (RAN, Tesla & EVConnect).
Sir Pentinite, our R1T, let us down...
That looks like a pretty good result considering all the gear, people and trailer. We're getting around 1.4-1.6 efficiency with our setup, but we have the 20" tires, which, from what I'm seeing, makes quite a bit of difference. As expected, speed has the greatest impact on efficiency for us...
Pulls beautifully, we do NOT have a sway bar setup and hitch directly to the 2" ball. We do have a hitch extension and electric-connection extension to be able to drop our tailgate and not hit the front jack. Haven't noticed any swaying at all. The EcoFlow system is great and we can turn OFF the...
Sure. The quality issues are not serious functional issues--everything works great. It's just sloppy build issues, like; caulking, alignment of tie-down buckles, rough cutouts, and cost-cutting little things here and there. The RV industry typically builds crap, so I expected a few misses. But...
I have a question for you, Scott. Did you go to the Emerald City Rivian event up at Wild Horse Wind Farm in May?? We were parked right next to a gorgeous Compass Yellow R1S and briefly chatted with you and your family in the parking lot...if that was you. I had planned on bringing the AMP with...
The "nearly" all-electric is why I ordered and waited for mine. The most impressive thing is the EcoFlow Power Kit...it really rocks!!! I also wanted a built-in induction burner, since I've been cooking with induction for over 10 years now. Having the backup propane option for the fridge is nice...
YES INDEEDY!! :D That would make it easier. I'm 5'8", so the pad/pole works great for me from inside. It does seem to get easier as I get more practice.
NICE! The colors together look great! Your Expedition is nearly identical inside to my AMP, except for the EcoFlow hub and battery inside next to the toilet cabinet. After our first trip, we're convinced that this was a good option for us.
Setup/Tear down is not bad. Does take some time, but easier for us than the tent camping we were doing last year. One person can do it easily. Pushing up the two big center panels requires a pole with a soft pad at the end (see the blue pad on a pole in the camp photo) due to the height...
FIRST CAMP WITH THE ALINER AMP!
We finally managed to get away in our new 2024 Aliner AMP. Had a great trip! Everything worked great, but I am disappointed with a few poor-quality build issues, but nothing that would keep me from buying it again. The EcoFlow system is stellar--800W solar panels...
Great!! Thanks for the info!! I'll have an Ecoflow-power-kit system in my Aliner Amp that lets me control the "alternator" charging amps, so I can set it to whatever I want...8amps or less.
I'm curious about how the Rivians handle charging a camping-trailer battery, if at all. ICE vehicles charge trailer batteries while driving through a connection to the alternator. EVs obviously don't have an alternator, so do they charge trailer batteries at all??
