Rivian Configurator is Up For Reservation Holders! Share Your Build / Configuration Inside

My backseat drivers are going to be happy they will have a heated steering wheel.

    Somewhat disappointing- colors cost extra

I'm wondering if there's additional circuitry that's involved with the camp kitchen, or if it just plugs into the onboard 120V inverter. It would be neat to pull HV right out of the battery but it seems unlikely because of just how high the voltage is, a damaged wire getting exposed would be a...

    What time

I don't get an error message when trying to create an account, but I also don't get the e-mail.

    Battery Upgrade?

Well, the original press release disagrees with your assessment. They haven't released the configurator yet so we can't know for sure, it's possible they may still make the 180kWh pack available at launch with an additional increase in cost versus waiting 6 more months.

Rivian Launches New Website: Updated Prices, Launch Edition, Timing, Colors and More!

Also says that the open-air roof won't be available until mid 2022. I'm pretty disappointed about that.

Rivian Launches New Website: Updated Prices, Launch Edition, Timing, Colors and More!

Just noticed that the Rivian website was updated, they've posted more info about the vehicles and the delivery timelines and prices. Launch edition starts at $75,000, delivery June 2021. Looks like it's going to be the 135kWh pack. In a different area the 180kWh pack won't ship until Jan 2022...

Rivian Configurator is going live on 11/16!!!!

I hit a 404 error page on the main rivian site, and the banner came back briefly and directed me to "time-to-build-v2" which also doesn't exist as of now. I'm wondering if they are still just trying to figure out how to limit the pages to people who actually have pre-orders.

    R1T $69,000 starting price - opinions

I think the "Starting" price actually refers to the minimum equipment that they will build for on day 1. They've said before that the 105kWh pack isn't going to be in production right away. Anyone thinking they'll get a Rivian R1T for less than the starting price next year is going to be...

Email update on Rivian Configurator, Financing, Brand Store

Rivian seemed intent on making announcements and video reveals when other companies have been doing theirs to ride their coattails. I'm expecting something around the time of the Hummer reveal in 9 days.

    Rivian, PLEASE Fix This!

So that wire goes somewhere that isn't present yet and is just tucked into the control arm so it isn't dangling worse. Stop reading into things too much. Personally I'd rather they make their battery electric trucks actually have a battery, what were they thinking??

Poll: Rivian Factory Delivery & Tour

Heck yeah, I'll drive down there with my Bolt and an empty car trailer. Hook the trailer up to the truck, drive the car on, and drive home. 400 mile trip, would probably have to stop three times with the Bolt and trailer, and only once on the way home with the Truck.

    Anyone worried?

I did work on a paint shop for SGMW in China. The road to the plant was dirt, the inside of the plant was dirt, there were no working bathrooms for the first two months of our project there. The area that held our equipment was a little bit more finished but we had to be careful about tracking...

    EVSE stats from EnergyStar

The 80% rule for continuous loads goes both ways. An outlet designed for 50A is engineered to not fail at 125% of the rated current, meaning if you were running 62.5A through it, you should have no issues besides excess heating. That said, it's definitely not advisable to exceed 80% of 50A...

    Anyone worried?

I wouldn't buy any EV today if it wasn't going to work for 99% of your use cases. But if it does, then there's no point in worrying about what tech will be coming out next because today's is adequate. There's always going to be something better or more efficent coming out in the future...
