Yeah, they’ll have to execute really well in the last two quarters this year. RJ did say that they see light at the end of the tunnel wrt parts shortages. And they’ve run their manufacturing line at burst mode at much higher volume, so those two things together seems to give them confidence...
Yes, this. Rivian will have to switch to a delivery center model at some point since the drive to home isn’t scalable. Also, most of their Q1 manufacturing was last 2 weeks of March, so not enough time to deliver. And they are a startup, so not surprised their outbound logistics aren’t up to...
Stock is probably underpriced, but they haven’t shown they can actually make 25,000 vehicles this year. Based on the numbers given, it looks like a long shot. Also their GA expenses climbed a lot for a company that can’t make a lot of vehicles. Looks to me like they over hired anticipating a...
I’d recommend to install a hardwired 60 amp circuit and get the $500 Rivian wall charger. The extra 8 amps of charge over a 14-50 outlet will be nice. Any full size truck or SUV like the Rivian gulps electrons compared a small Tesla.
Nice! I always like using a wall charger anyways since they are more robust and usually last longer. FYI, Splitvolt web site: https://www.splitvolt.com/
Received via email and signed my PBA yesterday for my R1S reserved Nov 2018 for San Diego delivery. No 8 step process yet whatever that is (unless PBA is step one or two).
I‘d be looking for a second circuit. Either a higher power one like a TT-30 30A circuit, or use a second 20A circuit to power either your charging or your accessories.
Yep, my guide call today for my R1S said initial deliveries started last week, so who knows. Exact same thing happened during the early days of Tesla. No one communicates in these startups 😄
Yahoo! Early R1S reservation holder here in San Diego and I just got my guide contact email tonight, with call schedule for tomorrow (Tuesday). First question I’ll be asking is if I need to change config to get it faster. Second question is can I test drive either the R1T or R1S before delivery.
This Tesla adapter seems to be highly rated, and they’ve been selling it for years. Should work with any non Tesla EV that needs a charge from a Tesla destination charger.

The X works well on the freeway, I would expect the R1S to also handle well there, but I'll let you know. That's assuming my wife will let me drive "her" R1S.
I'm an R1S reservation holder since November 2018 and I just today got this email (I had an April-May delivery date previously):
"It’s almost time to meet your Rivian Guide! Next week, we’ll start reaching out via email. Once you hear from us, you‘ll be able to connect directly with your Rivian...
Woo hoo! I just got this email. I'm an R1S reservation holder since 2018 and I had a previous April-May delivery email:

I had updated my config a week ago before they adjusted my pricing back to the original pricing. Now that they've changed my pricing back to original, I noticed that my config changes were gone. So I had tp update the config again.
So, check your config, especially after the price changes back...
