Try not to be too paranoid and avoid tinfoil hats. The cybertruck stalkers will quickly move to their next target

Getting service done, 1-2 weeks without my car

Don’t worry, your Rivian gets to play with the other Rivians while on the farm out in the country

I know the AC compressor is loud... but

Temperature and humidity should be what regulate the compressor in “auto” mode. I found that if I turn on recirculate it overrode the very loud compressor and kept it at otherwise normal operating speed. You might try that as an experiment.

I know the AC compressor is loud... but

Nope, no 90°+ in the PNW. But that never stopped the compressor from running full tilt regardless of conditions. Isn’t this what OP stated? “Even when the cabin temp is normal and acceptable, there is still a significant (but lower) sound coming out of the AC compressor.”

I know the AC compressor is loud... but

I’m not saying you for sure have the same problem, I’m saying I had the exact same symptom and it’s been fixed. YMMV

    ^yep, isn’t that what you’re describing?

Had pick up scheduled for Tomorrow, Rivian calls says:

Rivian has your money, a signed contract and a delivery date. Now they want to pull the deal and offer you something better? Something’s not adding up.

Trailer left connected maintains Rivian's 12V battery?

It doesn’t surprise me. Not unlike putting a battery maintainer on the 12v circuit via a “cigarette” lighter. Or in this case via the jumper leads.

I know the AC compressor is loud... but

Mine used to do this. It doesn’t anymore after replacing a faulty humidity sensor. Something to ask the SC about.

Commuting Concerns on a Packed Ferry Boat

Yes, that carried over from ICE to EV when I made the switch. It’s stored in the frunk so it’s accessible if/when needed.

Back in the (Rivian) Saddle… My first week with my R1S

Congrats on your new rig! What adapter are you using to access the superchargers? The glow of that friendly red R1S seems brighter than Canyon Red.

Rivian, please stop resetting my comfort settings

The voodoo on those vents where the defrost comes on every time is frustrating. I’d prefer to decide when it’s needed.

Commuting Concerns on a Packed Ferry Boat

Thankfully I’ve not seen any of that happen in my years of commuting. I’ve seen many other crazy things though: * hit a whale * lost propulsion * man overboard * kayak rescue * high seas taking on water * medivac * coast guard tailing * near collisions * mechanical breakdown

Commuting Concerns on a Packed Ferry Boat

I tend to hotspot it and use my Rivian as a mobile office, but I’m looking forward to the entertainment options!

Commuting Concerns on a Packed Ferry Boat

I’m one of those early dual 12v VINs. I’ve never seen a WSF tug pull a emergency brake locked vehicle off the boat. Seems the consensus is I’m over thinking it. Appreciate all the feedback.

Commuting Concerns on a Packed Ferry Boat

Labeling my concern as extreme seems dismissive. I’d rather be prepared. You may feel differently if it happened to you. I’ll let others weigh in on their 12v stories. I’m coming up on 3 years of ownership and haven’t had a failure (yet).
